Harnessing ideal location of the hotel and the heritage tourism character of the city was the idea of the client for developing the space. As the volume of the space was of anthropological scale, tasteful use of color, texture, elements, forms and material was crucial. Common areas of the hotel have been treated with rich furniture and bright , vibrant color palette. Our clients being a tasteful collector of arts and artifacts have gracefully enabled to use his handpicked collection along with elegant pick from local market and artisans. Entire space if provided with freshness through live greens.

Wooden Bal Mistry Architects

Leisure, tranquillity and adaptation of a traditional Moroccan house are the key elements of this home in Ahmedabad. The client’s brief stated that the language of this residential space ought to teleport us to a Moroccan style home, having a significant connect with nature. They wanted to have open yet private spaces with a completely soothing atmosphere. Simple And Interconnected | KSD Studio

The location for our latest holiday home project — Tranquil Haven — is the scenic Aamby Valley City at Lonavala, Maharashtra. The clients, a young couple, approached us with an interesting assignment which comprised of rearranging the layout of a 3,000-square-foot villa, adding two additional bedrooms in the arrangement, and creating a calming aesthetic indoors using minimal design elements. The two-storied structure initially had a living-dining space, kitchen, study and two bedrooms with attached balconies; with a landscaped entrance, porch, a pool and sit-outs.

Functional And Clean | Space + Architecture

The entire foundation and columns are retained to limit the impact on the structure of the house. The walls between the old houses were removed, bringing large and connected spaces, fully meeting the long-term needs of the owner. The redundant staircase is replaced with a large skylight which is enough for natural light to diffuse into every corner of the house and the trees inside can still grow naturally. Based on the natural lighting, the house does not have to use electric lights during the day to reduce and save energy consumption.

Located at a standalone property and built across an area of 19000 sq.ft., this gastropub was designed to create an Avant-garde cocktail bar and restaurant. It became a talking point by serving a fitting semblance to relish the enlivening tone of innovation executed. This magnificent space is a classic yet eclectic mix of various design styles. The atmosphere here is of a moody speakeasy bar where one can sit back, relax and enjoy their drink. The design was driven by an incentive thought of bridging the gap between current millennial and traditional dining styles.

As you walk up to the first floor level, you will notice the antique wood railings on the staircase and that the character of the flooring changes. We have used yellow oxide as the base floor starting from the family room where we usually unwind and host friends. We picked up a beautiful antique chess table that we’ve placed on this level in one corner of the family room. The first floor earlier had 3 bedrooms, the walls of which we’re broken to accommodate two bedrooms of a larger area for my brother and me.

Energetic and cool office design have a pinch of casual planning with a more formal working setup. A 1500 sq.ft. commercial space for a Marketing company, the brief was for a variety of informal ‘fun’ workspaces – which were reminiscent of working in a café. Designing of the office started with creating such simple casual spaces and plan evolved around these interesting corners. The layout facilitates an open office culture, creating spaces which encourage interaction between team members. The house being in Mumbai, demanded a bold and contemporary thinking and the client also wanted the same but with clean lines and a hint of sophistication.With interesting play on material and textures, a modern and luxurious feel for achieved for this residence which stays true to persona of the occupants.

‘Mathrukrupa’ is located on a tiny plot measuring 25’x40’ along a narrow lane, in Ramamurthy Nagar, Bangalore. This project involved renovation of a 20 year old house, a quaint and simplistic design approach along with fringes of traditional materials and an inviting facade design. It is spread across two floors in load bearing structure. The client envisioned a home for a family of four, where they wanted to settle down. The attempt was to design a new space within a new set of requirements given by the client.
