3.Tinted Glass On Perforations
The brick jallis is used as a screen wrapping around volumes filtering light and lending privacy, the concrete and the white painted walls become animated surfaces as a result of play of light filtering through the trees on them reflecting the shadows of the surroundings. 4.Engravings On Concrete Wall
A lantern like, steel and glass stair hall, connects the first floor residence with the street level entrance. As one ascends through the concrete and brick clad sculptural volume and towards the upper foyer, it reveals the north facing prayer space. A precarious hanging cast-in-situ concrete ‘cross’ anchors this nebulous space.

5.Imprints of Leaves
The variation in textures, brought about by the diversity in materials, creates for a truly enriching spatial experience using all the sensory organs. 7.Intricately Embossed Screen
It is the staircase that epitomizes why this villa is a step above the rest in its interior design. The staircase is the main element of the house – both structurally and aesthetically. It’s a single RCC flight structure without any external supports.The circular staircase of exposed RCC is one of the first things you will notice when you enter this house. 8.Aluminium Curtain Wall
The premise of the project was to create an outdoor environment cooled down through passive design. The 120 pax restaurant seats between a water body, the swimming pool, and an extensive tropical garden. The perimeter walls design, allow the air to flow through them creating a cross ventilation current from the cold swimming pool air out to the hot street, thus, cooling down the central space.

9.Beside Window Punctures
Metal, spiral staircase leading to terrace, adds to the mystical value of the space. 10.Art And Textured Fabric
Having an eye for the antiques, the owner of this house in Kamrej wanted to display his collection in the most ambient way and his specification was met and realised by designer Dalwadi. 11.Mangalore Tiled Wall
The house was designed based on the owners’ aspiration: at once a serene place for weekend relaxation and a precinct filled with greenery, light and absolute privacy.As this area is used for many mobility activities, each balcony and set of stairs is particularly customised and vary from floor to floor to avoid repetition in moving and maximise the utilisation.

12.Textured MDF Paneled Wall
The wall attached to the stairway is made of POP and few textured MDF panel, finally treated with micro concrete. We have added triangular shape in few of the paneling. It creates a nice environment with light falling on the wall from skylight on top of the stairways and the perforated screen in the front of stair block playing a magical role.

13.Exposed Brick Wall
A conventional residence would involve floor planes stacked across three levels. But to further enhance vertical cross connectivity, the floor plates are staggered by 5 feet on either side of the triple height space, creating views into the great room from the other spaces.

A home right in the middle of suburbs or Ahmedabad. A home for a family of two generations living together. The site is located in the suburbs of the city Ahmedabad. 17.Stone-Brick Clad Staircase Wall
The design philosophy draws inspiration from the regional house form called ‘Gadi’, its elements, spatial planning and details of ornamentations and fenestrations. ‘A Gadi’ is like a small fortress with thick walls secured from outside, with internal courts, balconies, common areas that create an interesting hierarchy of open, semi open and enclosed spaces.

19.Decorative Perforated Wall
The staircase not only connects the different floors but also acts like a stack, allowing for natural ventilation and bringing in the light. With the very close proximity of the neighbour’s residences, the use of metal screens not only articulates the light but also acts as a security device while providing for a privacy screen. 20.Baker Style Brick Wall
The colour scheme is warm punctuated by neutral hues that come in the form of tapestries and flooring strikes the right balance. The sleek stand-alone steel staircase, a signature design element of Joshi’s work, has been cladded in exposed brick to mark its importance in the hierarchy of spaces. According to the designer, the staircase cabin is much more than just a transitional space. He metaphorically treats this element as a mood board for the space giving it a definition of its own. In the penthouse, the staircase acts as a spine and has been treated with equal proportions of classy and quirky. The ambient lighting from the chic long hanging fixtures creates a majestic frame.

21.Circular Fenestration
In sync with the concept of planning, the exterior is a simple geometry comprising of a bold brick mass with exposed concrete overhangs and large openings. To break this organization, an interesting circular silhouette is introduced in the façade. This element is then explored further in the house wherever a break of monotony is quintessential. The house is conceptualized to be minimal, giving more importance to the spaces than individual elements.

22.Steel Bar Wall Art
The formal drawing hall speaks of its balance with its cozy and snug nature- with the plush furnishings and a centralized arrangement. It is The texture of the grey coloured furniture matches beautifully with the light coloured Italian flooring and subtle dark shade of the veneer. 24.Mural Line Art
A small sunken, pebbled courtyard cum seating adds one more layer of interest to the large split-level living-dining expanse of the Skewed House. The greenery here establishes connections with its counterpart outside, minimizing the distinction between the inside and the outside. The light that cascades from the skylight directly above the courtyard-stairwell block animates the space, its play adding a dynamic dimension to the living area.

25.Peel Off Illusion

27.Staircase Wall Niche Art
Internal stairs connected between the two floors enables visual transparency to the members and encourages family interaction. 29.Tinted Glass Art on Staircase Wall
The pièce de résistance is a large round cut-out in the wall. With a 20-foot diameter, it is set with textured glass in blue, yellow and green in a geometrical pattern which carries through the diagonal lines of the pattern on the surrounding RCC wall. Dominating the space, it connects all the floors of the house. “The metal supports which bear the weight of the glass, have been clad in wood,” says Joshi.

31.Fluted Wall Texture
The staircase is cast in concrete and black kadappa stone is layered just on treads with an offset on sides to show their profile as a design element. The handrail is custom-designed, clear glass framed with MS box in matte black powder coating. No trace of wall light is seen through the staircase area as a linear light inserted in a wooden round bar, 9 inches above the staircase runs parallelly. This upside throw light enhances the consistent vertical grooves adding up to the heights.

The interior of the apartment has a monochrome color tone reflected in the shades of ‘Morning Glory’ on the walls and gray floor tiles in the rooms and common areas, endow a modern homely living environment. Now, this earth has been on-site forever. It has endured the test of time. So it just made sense that this very earth becomes the house! One that uses only 6-8% of cement usually needed for normal construction. In villages, people often build their houses using mud.
