Designed for a young couple and their pet cat, a house that feels like the summer breeze, with artsy elements and pops of colours that strongly personifies their home tuned with mellowed arches. The brief received from the client was to incorporate an indie theme without compromising on the functionality and being easy on the pocket. Décor wise, we had already fixated on the chandelier, artwork and the sofa and that’s how the entire mood board for the house was crafted. We wanted to make these the art pieces stand out and therefore went for pop of pastels on the walls and colour splash on the ceiling. The palette in the living room swiftly progresses to the guest and master bedroom through textures, upholstery and finishes.

While it wasn’t this one big apartment we see today when we began working on it, the family had already selected where each room would be placed based on the way sunlight moved through the home. While two bedrooms amalgamated of the 1100-square-foot home in Mumbai would be for the couple, the other would be for their daughter. The fourth bedroom was entirely broken down to accommodate the elaborated kitchen, and we now had a large living room to work with, which allowed us to build a home mandir to its side. The overall material palette predominantly used here is marble and veneer.

The Retreat – a quiet or secluded peaceful place in which one can rest and relax. This home of 890 Sq.ft in Andheri east, Mumbai is aesthetically designed by Mili Gajra, interior design consultant, “go Beyondwalls” for a retired bank official and his wife, both senior citizens. The clients needed their abode to be relaxing, functional, easy to maintain, colourful yet elegant and graceful and within a budget. Mili tried to incorporate all these elements into this vibrant and simplistic yet aesthetically designed home – “The Colourful Kutira”, an uncluttered apartment design with smooth, clean lines and artistic flair that exudes warmth. This imparts a comfortable and calming feeling in the house that is inviting and relaxing.
Our initial design thoughts were to make the space look lively, comforting and have an admiring aesthetics. In terms of space planning we decided on reducing the living room by a few feet to accommodate a balcony which ended up becoming the favourite spot for the couple. As we enter the space through a Victorian main door, the first unit that you come across is the shoe unit and it was crucial to make the unit interesting and far away from being generic, so we decided to scoop out a seating space that was functional and aesthetic and made the simple act of wearing footwear interesting.

A minimalistic design style with earthy colour palette in mind, the homeowners preferred subtle designs with minimal or no reflective surfaces in their spaces. Our instinctive design approach was a design style that takes its cue from the natural world and focuses on comfort, relaxation, and resort-like luxury. The brief was to design an elegant, practical and luxurious apartment, within the constraints of the compact spaces.

A new generation adobe addressing a perennial challenge of Mumbaikar’s pertaining to efficient space utilization with an elegant touch of contemporary baseline. The underlined thought during conceptualizing this design was emphasized on exhibiting the warmth of memories, preferences and experiences of our client who is a four member family with a newly married couple planning to move in with their parents. Keeping in mind the compact space of a 710 Sq ft 2bhk apartment in Thane styled with contemporary design, the most critical part of the space planning was incorporating the client’s functional requirements by blending them in with a core theme of each space.

The city that has been enchanted far and wide for years at the end, Bangalore is a mix of old-world heritage charm with a striking contrast to modern high-rise structures. And in between all the city bustle lies this inspiring 900 sq ft, designed by Shilpa Srinivas and Nithin, Founders of Aarthaa Design Studio. Taking cues from the term ‘less is more’, elevating the bare form, revealing the true essence of design and achieving simplicity, an earthy colour palette becomes the face of this minimalistic modern home. The biggest challenge in this whole project was to create a spacious-looking space with ample storage. There’s no magic wand you can wave to make your home larger (unless you’re ready to commit to some serious remodeling)! We completely redeveloped the home, perceiving more space by applying some basic design principles like using mirrors to visually amplify small spaces helped a lot. Light colors on the walls and combing the living and dining room altogether, made the space look bigger. And using mirror wardrobes for extra storage in living room helped us to create the illusion of extra room. For us, planning is the most crucial process which stitches a fabric for aesthetic value, functionality, livability and experience of the finally executed project. The result of this entire six-month long planning and execution process ended up in the creation of a spacious luxury apartment with elegant interior design.

The Mist Habitat is a stunning example of modern interior design, with a colour scheme that’s both serene and sophisticated. The grey-blue colour palette creates a sense of calm and tranquillity throughout the living room, kitchen, and bedroom spaces.
The initial notion for the interiors was to create an unwinding space for the techie couple both of whom have hectic work schedules and desired their home to be a sanctuary from the chaos of everyday life. The house needed to extend as a working space as well as have warmth to create a sense of comfort and relaxation. This Goa home embraces the sense of minimalism, allowing the purity of form and texture to be highlighted, through its achromatic interiors. Thereby creating an atmosphere of simplicity and tranquillity, providing residents a respite from the chaos of the outside world.
