Designed for a young couple and their pet cat, a house that feels like the summer breeze, with artsy elements and pops of colours that strongly personifies their home tuned with mellowed arches. The brief received from the client was to incorporate an indie theme without compromising on the functionality and being easy on the pocket. Décor wise, we had already fixated on the chandelier, artwork and the sofa and that’s how the entire mood board for the house was crafted. We wanted to make these the art pieces stand out and therefore went for pop of pastels on the walls and colour splash on the ceiling. The palette in the living room swiftly progresses to the guest and master bedroom through textures, upholstery and finishes.

The safety door with a sleek arched metal jali allows a tiny glimpse into the living room. The colours used in the living room are only a sneak into the soothing palette used throughout the space.
With a panoramic background of beige the living room comes together with earthy tones. The rust sofa compliments the wallpaper and the sage ceiling.
A neat detail of the colour from the ceiling crawling down slightly, allows this home a sense of enclosure. A series of arches bring warmth from the safety door to the pooja unit and a tiny niche on the wall.
The drawer shutters of the tv unit camouflage with a niche dedicated to place plants. A literal senseof reflection adds to the bar unit with a tinted-rose mirror panelling passing a jazzy energy throughthe room.
The dining was a bit challenging to accommodate, but with the bench it makes one of the most versatile corners of the house. With The round table top overlapping the neatly lined bench and the perfectly placed chandelier, you know you are home at the first sight and that’s exactly the tone we wanted to set.
It turns into a workstation in the day, a lounge on a lazy day – when reading a book and sipping coffee and also paints the perfect mood for candle lit dinners inviting endless conversations.
The pooja unit, which was something we designed towards the very end, is treated like an artwork. The arched shutter is parallelly cut to the rust panelling and the round element on the shutter is painted in mint blue adds colour to the elevation.
The terrazzo tiles used as backsplash in the kitchen sandwich perfectly between the base unit and the ceiling.
They look in continuity with the wall cabinets. Instead of going with a traditional setting of ceiling lights, we decided to add profile light under the loft units.
In the master bedroom, the earthen tones paired with a muted yet graphic wallpaper are colour blocked with a soft sky-coloured blue arch onto the wall and the curtain.
Wooden texture carried from the living paired with beige on the L shaped wardrobe heightens the room and also articulates the corner. This combination puts you at ease without being heavy on the eyes.
The colours, the arches and the artwork carry a rhythm that flow through the house giving a sense of instant warmth and comfort.
The guest bedroom was initially being designed for a work from home set up but the murphy bed allows it to become a multi-purpose room to work-out when needed. And also makes it less overwhelming with the crunched space.
This room being exactly opposite to the kitchen, it was an easy thought to slip a little bottle green on the bench with a peach panelled backdrop over the murphy bed for a hint of tropics. This was to add a little glee to the otherwise tidy study.
