Due to the Pandemic nature of this project, countless challenges were encountered. Despite the inability to find labor and materials, delays in timelines, and delays in the completion of the project, the designer’s spirit was unaffected. It took longer than usual to complete the project but She worked alone throughout the entire concept, development, and execution process. Based on the designer’s philosophy of contemporary minimalism, this project explores its aspects. The space is warmly illustrated with earthy shades of grey, pastels, and teak wood. Design that is neat, stylish, and sustainable where furniture was less colorful and furnishings were more colorful to brighten up the space.

Located in the busy streets of Mumbai, this contemporary home reflects an expression of a cozy feeling. The Radiant Home – An Expression Of Calm, Inviting And Cozy Space is a project of 1500 sq.ft. , that evokes the grace and subtleness of it’s classy interior design. It is important to find a quiet, peaceful area in the bustling city of dreams – Mumbai, as everyone desires a peaceful place. This is what we aim to provide to our clients – a space where they can feel calm, content, and peaceful. Through understanding our client’s needs, we approach each project from a simplistic perspective in terms of colors, style, textures, light, and budget. In our brief, we were given the challenge of creating a unique concept that included modern minimalism, earthy tones, and ample storage. The walls were painted in nude colors to create the illusion of a bigger space, the living room and bedroom are in pastel colors to give the room visual importance, and the furniture pieces were selected to merge with the design to provide a glamorous tinge.
Using a simple toned palette, an intriguing textured wall created the apartment’s entrance. POP’s brick cladding influences the place with a rustic feel as one walks into the entryway. The white color of the ceiling gives this entry an air of brightness and spaciousness.
An interior color palette of teak and gray is reflected in the crockery unit in the living room. The idea of maintaining the sanity of space was an important consideration for a designer, and it can be observed in the way the space looks as a whole.
Living rooms serve as important meeting places in Indian culture so that people can sit together and share their experiences. There is a Chevron pattern on the TV panel and low-height crockery unit in the Living Room, and this pattern is also on the Safety door. An accent of blue on the upholstery makes the space look radiant and lively.
Colorful and charming, the rug in the seating area adds to the room’s appeal. Besides the living area, a dining table with elegant style and crockery complete the look of the room. The bespoke Italian marble dining table seamlessly blends into the area with contrasting material.
The modern style design can be witnessed in bedrooms using two different approaches. In the bedrooms, pastel hues with hints of color are predominant, except in Son’s room which has gray and white hues throughout. The textured wall near the study area creates a charm with the pastel hues of the walls.
It is a great challenge to provide more storage space for a client in a city like Mumbai, and the Guest Room Wardrobe is the answer to this challenge. An Armani look-alike marble tile floor and patterned tiles in the Master Toilet break the monotony and add refinement. In order to keep the budget in check, veneer was used only in the Entry and Living areas, while laminate was used in the Bedrooms.
“I particularly like the feature wall in the master bedroom because it was constructed with MDF fluting back then when fluting was not as common as it is now. As art and colors are a part of our lives, our homes are where our lives begin and end. A floral wallpaper creating a sense of home in between is something that I consider very important when designing any home.” As expressed by Designer Mili Gajra
