Editor’s note : “A renovation that goes hand in hand with functionality.” Designed to keep coherence as the underlying theme, this humble penthouse reflects interiors bathed in pastels and wooden flutings. An unnoticeable feature would be the octagonal room separator with its Moroccan print and the doughnut-shaped wooden handles in the Master Bedroom. The addition of the classical wainscotted walls and closet hem the interiors with a touch of modernity in times of practicality. ~ Venessa Thomas (Co-Editor)
Remodelling the entryway, living room, kitchen, dining room, and master bedroom of a penthouse. The home was refurbished with the traditional aesthetic style in mind.
The use of a traditional Ms grill on the front with the half-cut shape mirror on the hidden storage space gives the entrance a soothing and inviting vibe.
To allow a young couple some privacy, a master bedroom with an expanded dressing area and a lounge has been created. All of the empty space has been filled up with something tomake it appear more important. It comes in a variety of different shapes and colours and will work well with a variety of different decors.
The design approach of the designers was to do a play of colours and illusions. We’ve used classic themes and wallpaper with a motif to create a traditional look. A combination of yellow, ivory and grey has been chosen from the moment we selected the flooring.
While the feature element is done in a motif wallpaper between the master bedroom and dressing area. The Octagon wallpaper element is one of the many unique elements of this bedroom, it looks as if it ascended from the ceiling with four supports holding it down on a deck.
Adding a fluted panel on the back wall of the bed, it grants the bed a compositional backdrop. The effort was towards creating different pockets of functional areas in this room.
A sleeping area is separated from the walk-in wardrobe and dressing area. A pleasant reading corner was designed with one side overlooking the entrance of the room.
