  • Vastu Compliant Workspace that is Aesthetic and Functional | Sadhana Associates and Interiors

The project, an office for a sugar broking firm, had a precise brief: to design a Vastu compliant, contemporary workspace that is aesthetic and functional. The client’s brief was to use the best of the materials and finishes available. Further, provide them with an office that ensures comfort and luxury for both users.

The workspace was designed and executed by “Ar. Harshal Chudiwal – Sadhana Associates & Interiors” an architecture and interior design studio founded by Harshal Chudiwal in Aurangabad and Shrirampur (Ahmednagar).

    Design Process

After receiving the basic brief, the designer had carte blanche to plan and execute the project. Material selections were made according to the theme.

We designed this space with a contemporary, modern workspace style approach. We undertook all the designs and material selections accordingly to suit the client’s needs.

Employing simpler geometric forms, we evolved robust massing while subtly striking the surfaces with detailed patterns and textures. The site was a small area of 11ft x 22 ft and located on the ground floor of the building.  The site looked out to a busy road of Shrirampur (Ahmednagar) city thus endowing it with a restricted open view.

The overall intent was to capitalize on the space, weaving in the outside busy road into the space experience. Hence, to Create a Vastu compliant workspace that would uphold the ethos of the Firm.

We designed the entry with an open feel to achieve an impressive and intelligent workplace for this sugar broking firm, using Geometric Concept for space modulation. We achieved this using MS pipes and MS strips, which both define the staff and waiting areas and keep them connected to the main entry.

Further, we utilized the wall-space with colorful theme paintings, standing out in the grey laminate frame used all over. We installed MS pipe table supports to imbue continuity of visuals from the rest of the office.

    vastu compliant

For lighting our strategy was to achieve a soothing visual balance. Hence, we opted for an even warm-white tone to space. The lighting further highlights the material palette we chose for the design. We finished the integral part of the furniture in a combination of grey texture laminate, acrylic on tabletops, and white lamination paint.

    vastu compliant

We also focused on the given brief and created combination of Laminate in Grey & MS in White color with Horizontally & Vertically. Used glass and MS partitions to maintain privacy and also to make view look bigger. We created sofa support in MS Pipe and MS Strips so to lend a continuity of visuals imbibed from the rest of the office.
