This Multi Family House Considers The Individual Needs and Tastes | The Framework Interiors

The aesthetics of this multi family house considers the individual needs and tastes, which reflects in their particular rooms and common areas. This multi family house for 6 is located in Balewadi, Pune. They opted to refurbish the house from the ground upin which ‘Home Office’ acts as key highlight of the project. The COVID-19 pandemic made more people work from home, so having a home office became important for professionals of the family.

This joint family consists of a working couple living with their parents and two kids. The complete visual story of this project is showcased in a premium and classy way with practicality kept in mind.

This Multi Family House Considers The Individual Needs and Tastes | The Framework Interiors

Entrance and Foyer

The first sight of the house is of the traditional wooden slatted wall with a graceful wooden door. Inside, the Foyer welcomes you with its neutral colour scheme and minimal use of elements. As the entry passage was long we played with lights here in the false ceiling along with spot lights that highlight the beautiful paintings that decorate the walls.

It leads to the living room from the front, the kids’ room from the right and the home office from the left.

Living room

We retained the same layout for the living area which has a dining area on the opposite end. Both the areas feature a sophisticated minimalism along with accents added through the furniture.

Dining area

The table and chair set areenhanced with a handcrafted wood base and a stunning marble top, complemented by a service window to suit the purpose of the area.

KITCHEN

The previous kitchen only had a single countertop. There was a lot of unused space. We changed the entry of the kitchen and closed off the earlier entry with a service window with a little arch detail.

Multi Family House

We added a parallel counter alongside a tall unit. This increased the countertop area and also added lot of extra storage space in comparison to the previous kitchen.

Master bedroom

A lovely example of how minor adjustments can have a major impact on the space. We retained the complete wardrobe and only changed the external laminate, moved the dresser around, added a false ceiling with white natural light.

Multi Family House

The bed was further improved with the addition of a headboard that reflects the same pattern used on the wardrobe shutters.

Kids Room

For kids’ room we designed this comprehensive study space with ample storage. A shared, open unit where kids can show off their enthusiasm for Legos.

Multi Family House

The use of arch shape in the furniture, false ceiling and bedback add a fun element to the kids room.

Multi Family House

Because of the kids love for the Legos, the handles were designed using a Lego block template and were custom-made from wood and finished with PU paint.

Multi Family House

Parent’s bedroom

We re-planned the layout of this room and kept it simple with the bare minimum requirements of double bed, study and wardrobe.

Multi Family House

To the ceiling, we added faux wooden beams as a highlight element.

Creating the ideal Work-From-Home Office Space

From the passage we move onto the home office on the left. This space was originally a store room which consisted of a bathroom and a back entry to the utility. However, this space was not being utilised at its optimum. During Covid, the importance of a home office was immensely felt. Therefore, this space was transformed into an ideal home office.

Multi Family House

We closed the back entrance to the kitchen with a DGU window. We added a standing work desk from @ebcosolutions which provides much relief during long work hours.

A combination of natural white and yellow lighting highlights the light wooden elements pleasingly which adds to the professional ambiance of the office.
