Luxurious Bespoke Apartment Backed with Sustainable Materials | Divyakant Mistry Associates

Dreaming of an interior space perched with natural as well as durable materials to define grandeur? An accomplished feel of vastness and luxury is the end result of this modern bespoke 3BHK apartment. It is versatile portraying various affluent embellishments while amalgamating all the strong, and long-lasting materials. The client wanted a maintenance-friendly home with a pre-requisite demand for an opulent interior for his small family including the couple, their two sons, and visiting grandparents. The materials had to portray the richness and at the same time had to be sustainably durable.

VISIT: Divyakant Mistry Associates

The living room selectively weaves together natural marble, PU coated veneer and, mirror slits to clad the walls- contrasting a sober plain ceiling. Material palette has been chosen keeping in mind the clients’ demand for an easy-to-maintain design and durable materials. Consciously, the areas that tend to be used frequently use more durable materials for a longer life span. The fondness of the clients for glass has also been justified in the design.

The TV unit and the storage unit on either side of the main door display a juxtapositioning of materials like veneer, wood, marble, and glass to bring out an efficient stand-alone unit. Adding to the design elements, space borrows in ample natural light to terminate upon these reflective surfaces enriching the feel of the space.

The entrance lobby is designed to foreshow the persona of the client and the interiors with its rich materials. It uses a polished veneer to frame a metal Jalli for the main door. It gets further complimented by wooden battens amidst a natural stone slate.

The walls in the dining space are highlighted with graphic marble, mirror, and color lamination panels accommodating an affluent display shelf. The center has a veneer recession in the ceiling with an enchanting chandelier to focus on the table with deviant leg supports and durable marble top.

The kitchen is a minimalistic modular unit with a soft pastel palette for the storage units. It is a wide space with a peripheral platform arrangement and a sober stone top to add to the convenience. A plain back painted glass surfaces the wall above the platform and the marble floor extends itself on the walls. The cabinets gets surfaced with colour lamination finish generating a glossy and a soft feel. Deliberately, these design decisions were intended to generate an easy-to-maintain functional unit.

The master bedroom is stylish with the brown leather bed back that extends to the ceiling to take the limelight. Correspondingly, the TV unit against it is again backed by the same concept thus streamlining the core area. A major use of deep polished veneer is used for the cupboards, doors and, wall surfaces including the pelmet to let loose the sober curtains hanging from behind it. Here again, the marble on the floor gets extended along the walls to either clad it or frame it generating an eloquent feel.

The powder blue theme in the teenage sons’ bedroom is soothing and rationalizes its user group. It includes a recessed introvert study table with back painted glass shelves same as the cupboards and the storage unit on the other wall. A common geometric pattern gets imbibed on various surfaces like the wardrobe doors, the shelves above the console, and the ceiling- weaving the monothematic concept in the space.

All these furnishings look livelier with the natural light from the large window that gets framed with the same marble as the floor. The deep blue leather cladding for the bed back and the TV unit again follows the same concept as in the other rooms highlighting the core areas.

A beige colour palette is chosen for the guest bedroom cum the visiting grandparents’ bedroom with large-sized windows to attain a calm feel all day long. For the elderly couples’ convenience, the temple is installed in the room itself with a customized glass door.

The designer also gave it a versatile feel while also attaining a young look for either of the sons’ to use it in the future. The geometric patterns on the surfaces exemplify the intention of a younger-looking space. Ample indirect natural light and settled colors generate a soothing aura in the room.

The bathrooms are warm and cozy with chosen materials to exemplify the richness of the space. They are aptly designed for their convenience in use. The well-lit recessions in the wall creating the niches along with back-lit mirrors add to the artistry here.

These robust interiors with its gaudy materials could successfully gain the best compliments from the clients- “dream transformed into reality”. Thus a residence with a richness all around curated with durability solves its purpose.
