    A luxurious bungalow that combines the luxuries of city life with the beauty and simplicity of traditional Indian homes, Edge74studio has truly delivered a master-piece in design. Named “The Modern Paradox,” this design truly does justice to the name of the project. The bungalow designed with various awe inspiring elements such as an exposed brick bedroom, concrete finished ceilings, painted tiles, sleek furniture with traditional touches and bright pops of colour makes it truly a premier design. The symmetry of the design, while keeping in mind the feel of the space and the requirements of the clients is another notable feature of this home.

    “The idea was to ensure that the design, the functionality, and the feel of the home is true to our Indian roots. It was as challenging as it was fun to be able to experiment with the textures, patterns and colours and bring about a design that is truly functional and user-friendly,” says Mr. Pranav Sheth, the architect behind this design.

    An earthy palette that inspires you to calm down and unwind, this living room focuses on creating an environment of peace and serenity. The play with shapes, patterns and materials adds a little splash of fun to the muted colours.

    The detailing on the partition wall with the tiny flowers and that of beautifully hand-painted plants on the highlight wall are the cherry on the cake! Following the earthy palette of the home, the dining area has a calming vibe. The textured wall adds to this effect.

    The comfortable chairs and benches add a touch of colour and bring out the brightness in the room. The blue of the dining area is also reflected in the kitchen counters, creating a symmetry of colours.

    An entertainment room that ensures that the family has a good time. Cobalt blue recliners and the tangerine orange wall creates an interesting contrastwhile the partition wall with its flower details matches the opposite wall and creates a harmony of colours. The French windows open up to the porch and elongates the length of the room & combining the indoor-outdoor experience.

    The grey marble floor and the various shades of blue used in the furniture and upholstery for this bedroom makes it a vibrant and lively space. The designs are kept neat and minimalistic, while the textures and patters play the important role in bringing out the beauty of the space.

    This cozy nook is designed such that it gives the family a chance to be with nature from the comfort of their homes. The comfortable window seat and the traditional rocking chair keep the whole theme of the house, while the blue colour used in the pillows, the rug and the curtains maintains the colour scheme.

    The roughness of the concrete finish of the ceiling is in stark contrast with the smooth and perfectly painted grey tiles of the floor. The exposed red bricks and the polished wood-work in the room provide an interesting variance.

    The play with the patterns by mixing up the sequence of the bricks on the wall, as well as the design on the tiles brings about the attention to detail in the design.

    Neat lines and clean designs, this area is functional and rustic. The pouffe stool with the intricately woven seat is an addition to the rustic feel of the room. The circular mirror breaks the monotony and the change in the floor tiles gives this area a unique identity.

    While designing, it is of utmost importance that function of the space is not overlooked. This study corner of the room truly applies this principle to use. The minimal desk, the hanging cabinets and the comfortable revolving chair are all functional. At the same time, the minute details of the furniture, the woven design of the office chair and use of textured stone as the tabletop – truly makes the design stand out.
