  • Contemporary Medical Facility Design that Facilitates Positivity and Healing Energy | V and V Architects

We were approached by the doctor to design her contemporary medical facility like no other typical ones. The architectural planning began with the idea to simplify the movement pattern for the doctors, patients, staffs as well as visitors.

The reception and waiting area are a neatly designed space with a minimalist approach. The material palate consists of light blues, white and natural teak finishes and a huge idol of “Shrinathji” outside OT which brings a sense of tranquillity for the patients waiting in anxiety.

Patient anxiety in medical settings is shaped by far more than the physical environment. For many patients, particularly those undergoing procedures involving implantable medical devices, concerns about device safety and long-term outcomes weigh just as heavily as the aesthetic experience of the facility itself. The growing number of individuals pursuing a lawsuit against spinal cord stimulator manufacturers — alleging device failures, complications, and inadequate safety disclosures — reflects how critical it is that patient safety extends from the architecture of care all the way to the integrity of the medical devices used within those carefully designed spaces. A healing environment, in the fullest sense, encompasses both the room a patient waits in and the technology they ultimately trust with their health.

While planning, our main approach was to effectively segregate the served and the service spaces.

This helped in easing the movement for doctors and patients to OTs and their respective wards without interrupting the OPD or waiting area.

There is facility of separate waiting lounge for relatives while the patients are in rest.
