Visually Interconnected Office Spaces | S.V. Construction

A corporate space is not merely a place to carry out the business routines but also a place that connects the business with the customers. Therefore, it should portray the work ethics of the business and also convey the identity of the owners. Vadodara based consultancy firm, S.V. Constructions very adequately picturized the needs of the owner in their very recent corporate project. They could successfully deliver a place with spacious interiors that efficiently meets the need of the client.

The project is a perfect example of visually interconnected functional spaces and yet leaving them cozy enough to give them the feel of their niche. The place is designed hierarchically with the core activities towards the front and mid-area and the service spaces such as a storage room, pantry, etc. on the rear area to add convenience to the working of the office.

The interior space opens up with a striking double storied reception area conveniently designed to incorporate the other functional spaces through visual connection. A billing section and an office space is located along the longer wall of the area with a narrow corridor separating them. The reception area is further overlooked by an office and a conference room on the mezzanine floor. It is well-lit with natural light.

The reception is highlighted with wooden veneer frames along the longer walls. These elements are used in a way to add to the verticality of the space. The ceiling is plain and minimal with vivid light fixtures and warm white light hangings providing the space with a noticeable warmth. The decent gray floor and plain white ceiling in turn, bring the focus onto the elements of furniture used. Whereas, the billing area is heavily furnished making it more introvert in itself.

The ground floor office overlooks the reception area through a fixed glass window on the corner. There is an exquisite use of brown veneers for the furniture in here. This space also uses unique elements to furnish the space- the corky wooden blocks for the main table and the slender steel rods that carries the weight of the horizontal surfaces. Tile cladding is used to highlight the longer wall. The corners were not left unattended either. The articulated corner table balanced on the slender steel rods adds a signature to it.

The corridor separating the billing counter and the office space on the ground floor leads to the stairs to the mezzanine floor. Upon climbing the single flight, the eye meets a sober-looking monochromatic painting added to highlight the stair cabin.

Onto the left, is the main office cabin with fixed glass along the longer walls to connect to its adjacent spaces. The choice of glass allows an adequate amount of light and visual expansion. The cabin uses a very unique color palette with blue lacquer painted furniture with a dash of brown veneered elements on it. The backdrop again uses a tile chosen to weave the minimal white ceiling and the gray floor. The call to use aluminum profile lights on the mezzanine floor adorns the minimalism of the ceiling.

Further walking along the corridor, leads to a staff area and a conference room. The corridor terminates with cozy yellow sofa and a window pane. The service spaces such as pantry and the store room lying along the corridors are intentionally hidden with an opaque veneered partition. The conference area is a cozy space with the undeniable yellow furniture and blue curtains and walls. One cannot miss the centric aluminum profile lights on the ceiling being the focal point of the space.

It is important to amalgamate the interior design with the natural light, adequate elements of furnishing and visual connections. The spaces should be functionally intertwined. This project indeed portrays that at par.
