  • A Vibrant Home With Sparse Furnishing And Lively Spaces Sits Comfortably In Pune | Agneya Designs

    [Sassy_Social_Share]

Located in Baner, Pune in an up-and-coming neighborhood is the 3-bedroom residence housing the Kulkarni family. The vibrant home is an intimate space and has been designed as such with sparse furnishing and bright, lively touches. While the living and dining areas remain light-filled and anchored by a beautiful breakfast bar perfect for hosting, the true heart of the home lies in the little girl’s bedroom. A tiny space with a pull-out bed pushed against the wall and a strategically planned corner study leaves the space in front completely open for the child.

    Vibrant Home

    Distinct Elements

The apartment has many distinct elements, something in every corner, be it the white console in the foyer or the concrete textured TV panel stretched on the wall before a single beige couch. A little more inconspicuous element is the lighting – The warm yellow ceiling of the foyer casts a welcoming glow upon entry and sets the tone for the interior area.

    Vibrant Home

    Living Space

The humble living space is a blend of shapes and textures. A black grid patterned breakfast bar with hand-painted gold profiles imposes on the dining and acts as the centerpiece of the lounge area. The TV backdrop is just as dramatic and with cool-toned wooden drawers and concrete panel.

    Vibrant Home

    Kitchen

The marginally open kitchen in this vibrant home has a beautiful white quartz countertop with almost blood-red bottom cabinets. The antique brass fittings tie the look together into a coherent vision.

    Bedrooms

The internal bedrooms are designed in an array of different materials. Rattan shutters framed inside a powder blue, is an unlikely combination, but one that works nonetheless. Pairing that with an orange bed back makes the room pop to life. The sunlight filtering in from the floor -to – ceiling windows directly in front turns the orange into a glowing silhouette somewhat resembling molten lava.

The second bedroom designed for the young-couple’s father has an earthy quality owing to the muted mint and wooden wardrobe. The walls break the neutrality with a striking red band running halfway through, creating a bold visual contrast. The colours work together to produce a balanced montage.

    Design Philosophy

The design throughout the vibrant home uses bright, clashing colours but composed in a way that they work for each other instead of against. Clever disposition of shapes and shades, and interesting geometries in every corner is the fountainhead of this home.

The entire residence is designed in a way that is sure to leave a lasting impression with its inhabitants – one in particular, an 8-year-old girl. The instructions given to the designers for this room were that “the space should be joyful”.

The small corner was reserved for the youngest member of the family, and has a pale pink ceiling, with a small custom pull-out bed, a matching pink hut shaped wardrobe and a light filled study nook. Small details were given extra attention like the handle in the form of a tree trunk, a valley-inspired bed back or the painted black boards.

Just like its owners, the interior space feels young, inspired and a little experimental.
