While we were already engaged in developing a kitchen display store in the city, our collaboration with Mr. Arvind Kiri added a new dimension. His Team approached us to conceptualize their upcoming BOSE and OLIVE hardware display center, desiring our design expertise. Prior to outlining the layout for the 600 sq. ft. showroom, they guided us through visits to the BOSE store in Mumbai and the OLIVE store in Surat. They provided insights into the products they intended to showcase. Following these visits, we refined the requirements for kitchen showcase design and eight wardrobes, each displaying distinct and unique hardware from the brand. In addition to highlighting the hardware, our challenge was to seamlessly incorporate the new finishes they retail into every furniture piece.
Kitchen Showcase Design with a Twist of Wardrobe Display | J Architects
Commencing from the entrance, we implemented BOSE’s sleek glass profile in an artful pattern, seamlessly integrating with the main door. For the ceiling, we utilized the wood finish from the Pare brand, one of their retail products.
The initial kitchen upon entry exclusively features BOSE hardware, showcasing the pure nano white stone complemented by subway tiles, creating a distinctive ambiance. The entire kitchen is immersed in white, with furniture finished in PU, accented only by hints of black for the hardware.
The first half of the showroom, drawing your attention towards the nano white kitchen, hosts five distinct wardrobes. Three on the right side boast finishes in laminate, fluted laminate, charcoal sheet, and glass, blending uniquely in an aesthetic manner.
The first wardrobe on the left, finished with laminate, showcases BOSE’s costliest profile. These wardrobes minimize the use of ply, as various accessories such as jewelry trays, trouser racks, shoe racks, and more are prominently displayed.
Upon entering the second half, partitioned by a unique telescopic channel with tinted glass, the first OLIVE kitchen, in its distinctive color, captures immediate attention.
This kitchen, the most unique among all, incorporates full-body laminate for the tandems and charcoal sheet instead of tiles for the walls, accentuating the panels.
Charcoal sheets are reserved for interior paneling, not the kitchen walls. Given OLIVE’s economical range and an expanded product range for display, the third kitchen was crafted accordingly, featuring acrylic sheet for the furniture and charcoal sheet for the wall. Wardrobes on this side of the showroom showcase veneer, acrylic, and full body laminate finishes.
The showroom boasts a diverse collection of a different hardware items, including five types of pantry units, rolling shutters, wicker baskets, and more. To accentuate the luxurious brands, we opted for magnetic track lights, departing from the cliché ceiling lights.
A small discussion table was strategically placed at the center to enhance the understanding of the showcased brands.
