EOS as a brand is an evolving brand that shows exclusive ways of providing ethnic wear, so the client being a designer had a great involvement in the design exploration. The retail store design is a beautiful creation where the interior designer and the client had their 100% involvement in creating an organic space. The biggest challenge that we faced was to fulfill the design ideas to create something one of a kind, that were solely created on site and making those elements look elegant as they were imagined.
The process of working with the teams and coordinating with them was a fun experience as the design challenges were thrown on them and it was their first time in creating such elements that includes table tops, curved walls and many pleasing characters that were brought to the design. The process included weeks of exploring designs and bringing up the concept.
Editor’s note: The EOS flagship store pleats within its curated elements that resonate well with a designer’s take and the customers’ taste. The physicality of the space is defined and characterized by the ornate work of textiles. It actually shapes the display areas, the partitions, the furniture, and the very creation. The vintage magnetism is inevitably certain. ~ Nishal Sevak
A Retail Store Design that Explores Various Mediums of Display | BoldStrokes Design
There are many design elements that I like, but out of them is the entrance space that has a beautifully designed screen with an antique brass touch adding to which a four petaled flower that was the choice of the designer.
The entrance shows many feature of the store the beautiful light up fabric ceiling plus the partially viewed podium showcasing their main display garments, plus a vision of half dome designed podium towards the entrance which was a tough spot in making it took a lot of trial and error that finally resulted into a beautiful spot to showcase the designers work.
The entire concept to develop the store was how to bring a different element of “wow” to every place that is visited or experienced by the customers. Being a commercial design the target audience were the customers. So the store had three main spaces that were : a private lounge meeting area, a semi-private lounge meeting area and a walkin space for customers to look up to their existing designer dresses.
Every room had a different theme and the toughest spot there was to select the color pallet for every room. The idea of blending every space and every color with the surrounding spaces was the most difficult task for the design team.
The client had a clear requirement that the store should be really bright and color full, even the furniture should also not repeat in any of the rooms , so dealing with the material selection was the most difficult task for the team.
The design style we opted for was organic with a small touch of traditional look, we used traditional furniture at a few places, traditional rugs, columns, Antique Chandeliers etc. It was a fun project to create with a lot of ups and downs.
Many stores were explored during the design creation including the Torani’s, Sabyasachi, Gaurav Gupta, and other renowned stores of such designers.
The site that was taken up was one of the prime locations in Vadodara the store had a beautiful space that had a double heighted space with a mezzanine floor overlooking to the main circle plus the flyover that is one of the most used flyovers in Vadodara.
The studio was located on the first floor so the vision of the store was neither obstructed from the flyover nor for the people on the road. It was a great location for showcasing such a beautiful design.
