With Landscaped Courtyards & Expansive Openings, This House Emphasises Nature | 9 Degree Design Studio

[Sassy_Social_Share]

The design of the house prioritises connectivity to nature by incorporating green elements like vertical gardens or landscaped courtyards. This is achieved through various means, such as large windows framing scenic views, outdoor living spaces seamlessly merging with the surrounding landscape. The emphasis on connectivity to nature creates a serene and harmonious environment, fostering a sense of well-being and a close relationship with the natural surroundings. The house showcases a creative exploration of brick, glass, and concrete blocks. Each material is carefully selected for its unique characteristics, and their combination adds visual interest and texture to the facade and interior spaces. This thoughtful material exploration enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the house.

With Landscaped Courtyards & Expansive Openings, This House Emphasises Nature | 9 Degree Design Studio

Facade Design

The design of the house incorporates a clear articulation of open, semi-open, and built spaces in its facade. This is achieved through architectural elements such as balconies, terraces, large windows, and distinctive volumes. The facade not only reflects the functional layout of the house but also creates a visually appealing composition that engages with the surrounding environment. Jaalis are employed on the terrace, serving both functional and aesthetic purposes.

Interplay of Light & Shadow

These intricately designed screens or lattices allow natural light to filter through, creating captivating patterns of light and shadows within the interior spaces. This interplay of light and shadows adds a dynamic and artistic touch to the overall ambience of the house.

Lighting Design

The house incorporates well-designed artificial lighting to enhance its aesthetic features. Carefully positioned light fixtures and thoughtful lighting design highlight architectural elements, accentuate textures and materials, and create a pleasant and inviting atmosphere during nighttime.

The artificial lighting complements the natural lighting from the jaalis and ensures that the house looks visually striking both day and night. In line with sustainable practices, the house utilises solar energy systems to reduce its reliance on the traditional power grid.

Embedding Sustainability

Solar panels are installed to harness sunlight and convert it into electricity, which powers various appliances and lighting within the house. This integration of solar energy contributes to lower energy consumption and a reduced carbon footprint.

Living Room

The all-white living room exudes an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. The white walls, ceiling, and floor create a bright and airy ambience, while the patterned carpet adds texture and visual interest to the space. The carpet’s design, with intricate patterns and contrasting tones, is a focal point that brings depth and character to the room.

The furniture in the living room is a combination of white cushioned seating and wood accents. The white cushions offer comfort and seamless integration with the white aesthetic, while the wooden elements add warmth and a touch of natural beauty.

Artwork

The combination of white and wood creates a timeless and harmonious look. Paintings are strategically placed along the walls to add a pop of colour and personality to the all-white backdrop. The artwork introduces vibrant hues, intriguing patterns, or captivating imagery, creating focal and visual points throughout the room.

The paintings reflect the homeowners’ tastes and provide an opportunity to showcase their unique style. The spacious layout of the living room allows for easy movement and comfortable gatherings. It provides a sense of openness and freedom, allowing individuals to relax and enjoy the serene ambience. The overall aesthetic, with its clean lines, minimalistic approach, and strategic use of colour, contributes to the room’s elegance and sophistication.

Blend of Textures & Colours

The all-white living room, with its patterned carpet, white cushioned wood furniture, and carefully selected paintings, creates a spacious, elegant, and sophisticated environment. It is a harmonious blend of textures, colours, and carefully curated elements that come together to form a stylish and inviting space for relaxation, socialising, and personal expression.

Kitchen

The all-white kitchen features a striking contrast with teal lower cabinets, adding a vibrant and contemporary touch. Two dark wooden chairs offer a cosy seating area along a serving platform. Golden accents on the serving platform add a touch of elegance and sophistication.

Lights placed along the corners of the ceiling illuminate the kitchen, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. This combination of white, teal, dark wood, and golden accents creates a stylish and visually appealing kitchen design.

Grey and Pink Bedroom

The bedroom features a soothing and contemporary design with grey walls that create a serene and neutral backdrop. Against the grey walls, a blush duvet adorns the bed, infusing a soft and feminine touch to the space. The white furniture stands against the grey walls, adding a clean and minimalist aesthetic. An arch on the wall serves as a captivating architectural feature against which the bed lies. It adds depth and visual interest, creating a focal point in the room.

White drop lights hang gracefully from the ceiling, providing warm and ambient lighting while adding a touch of elegance. A long mirror hangs on the wall, reflecting light and making the space appear larger. An arched cabinet complements the arch on the wall, tying the design elements together. Its curved lines add a sense of sophistication and continuity to the room.

Furniture Details

The furniture features a fluted pattern, adding texture and visual appeal. The fluted detailing brings a subtle sense of luxury and refinement to the overall design. Big sliding windows allow ample natural light to fill the room, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The outdoor sitting area outside the windows provides a cosy spot to enjoy the surrounding views and connect with nature.

Staircase

The curved staircase is a captivating design element in this space, creating a visually dynamic and graceful focal point. Its smooth, sweeping lines add a sense of movement and elegance to the overall aesthetic.
A bed of pebbles lies underneath the stairwell, creating a natural, textural contrast against the staircase’s clean lines.

The pebbles bring a touch of the outdoors indoors, adding an organic and earthy element to the design. The pebbles’ natural tones and varied sizes create a visually interesting and calming effect.

A Splash of Green

Potted plants strategically enhance the visual appeal of the stairwell. The greenery adds a refreshing and lively touch to the space, bringing nature closer to the interior. The plants also contribute to the overall balance and harmony of the design, softening the edges and creating a sense of tranquillity. A sculpture in black acts as the main element against the backdrop of the white and wooden stairs. With its unique form and bold colour, the sculpture becomes a striking focal point, drawing attention and adding an artistic flair to the space.

It serves as a conversation starter and adds a touch of sophistication and creativity to the overall design. The combination of the white and wooden stairs, pebbles, potted plants, and black sculpture creates a captivating contrast and a harmonious blend of materials, textures, and colours. The white and wood elements provide a neutral and timeless backdrop, allowing the pebbles, plants, and sculptures to stand out and make a statement.

Grey and white Bedroom

The bedroom boasts a serene and contemporary design with white walls that create a clean and fresh backdrop. The furniture in the room combines shades of grey and wood, adding warmth and a touch of natural beauty to the space. The bed sits against a wooden backdrop featuring a large circle and intricate corner motifs, creating a captivating focal point. This design element adds visual interest and artistic flair to the room.

Opposite the bed, a stone-finished wall adds texture and creates a visually striking feature. A light grey and wood floating cabinet complement the stone finish, offering a functional and stylish storage solution. It serves as a platform for television, creating a dedicated entertainment area within the bedroom. It creates a modern, inviting atmosphere, where comfort and aesthetics blend together seamlessly. Overall, this bedroom design offers a tranquil and contemporary retreat, combining elements of simplicity, natural materials, and visual interest to create a soothing and visually pleasing space for relaxation and rest.

Bedroom with Olive Bed

The bedroom features cream walls that create a soft and serene ambience. A cushioned olive bed takes center stage, placed against a rust-coloured wall with a unique combination of a red stone block finish on the outer frame and a fluted texture on the inner side. The contrasting textures and colours add visual interest and warmth to the room. A caramel wood-coloured side table complements the bed, while swan-shaped drop lights provide a touch of elegance and whimsy. This bedroom design blends earthy tones, textures, and playful accents, creating a cosy and stylish retreat.

Grey and Blue Bedroom

The bedroom boasts a soothing and sophisticated atmosphere with cream walls that create a warm and inviting ambience. Against one wall, a grey stone finish adds texture and visual interest, serving as a backdrop for the bed. The stone finish and wooden elements bring a natural and earthy touch to the space. The bed takes center stage, featuring an aqua-blue colour that adds a refreshing pop of colour to the room.

It is luxuriously cushioned on all sides, providing a cosy and comfortable sleeping space. The cushioned headboard offers additional comfort and serves as a stylish focal point. A statement chair in blue, complementing the colour of the bed, stands gracefully in the room. It is adorned with a white throw blanket, adding a touch of elegance and creating a cosy corner for relaxation.

Wooden Charm

The bedroom features wooden flooring, which adds warmth and a sense of timeless beauty to the space. It complements the wooden backdrop and creates a cohesive look. A long sliding window allows natural light to flood the room, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. It provides a beautiful view of the outdoors while allowing for ample ventilation.

Home Theatre

The theatre room features a comfortable Barcalounger for seating, providing a cosy and immersive movie-watching experience. A small bed adds versatility and allows for lounging or accommodating additional guests.

The room is centered around a big screen, creating a cinematic atmosphere. Against the white and wooden aesthetic, a bright red painting acts as a striking focal point, adding a vibrant and energetic touch to the space.

The combination of the cosy seating, entertainment setup, and bold artwork creates a stylish and inviting theatre room perfect for relaxation and entertainment.

Lounge Area

The lounge area exudes sophistication with its long cream sofa, providing ample seating for relaxation and socialising. The glossy stone finish tiles add a touch of elegance and modernity to the space, while the white and wooden aesthetics create a clean and timeless atmosphere. The combination of these elements creates a sophisticated look, inviting individuals to unwind and enjoy the serene ambience.

Whether for casual gatherings or moments of quiet solitude, this lounge area offers a stylish and inviting space for relaxation and conversation. Opposite the lounge area, a beautiful wallpaper captures attention with its depiction of a temple, a cow, and an abundance of greenery and flowers. The artwork is divided into three panels, creating an enchanting and vibrant focal point that adds a touch of nature and serenity to the space.

Balcony Design

The patio furniture with red cushions and a glass centre table creates a vibrant and inviting outdoor space. The bold red cushions add a pop of colour and a touch of warmth to the balcony, instantly catching the eye and setting a lively atmosphere. The comfortable seating provided by the patio furniture allows individuals to relax and unwind in style.

The plush cushions offer ample support, making it an ideal spot to lounge, read a book, or enjoy a conversation with friends and family. The red hue of the cushions creates a striking contrast against the natural backdrop of the outdoors, enhancing the patio’s visual appeal.

Patio Furniture

The glass center table adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the patio furniture set. The transparent glass top showcases the beauty of the surrounding environment, allowing the colours and textures of the outdoors to shine through. Its smooth surface provides a convenient space to place drinks, snacks, or decorative items, making it functional and aesthetically pleasing.
