Located in Udaipur– Rajasthan, this residential project enjoys a unique setting with panoramic views of Roop Sagar on one side and surrounding hills on the remaining three sides. The design brief focused on creating a modern and minimalist residence that exudes serenity and understated luxury. “The designers thoughtfully planned the house to include premium lifestyle amenities such as a home theatre, bar lounge, terrace garden, and private balconies, along with dedicated open spaces for every room.” A key client requirement was to create an open and breathable home, ensuring ample natural light and cross-ventilation so that every space remains well-lit, airy and seamlessly connected to its surroundings.

The façade expresses a contemporary residential character through clean volumes, material contrast and layered depth. “Designers combine exposed brick with off-white and grey paint to create a balance of warmth and simplicity, while aluminium glass railings add lightness and visual continuity.” Projected balconies and recessed frames introduce depth and create a subtle play of light and shadow, strengthening the vertical rhythm of the elevation.
“Designers seamlessly integrate functional elements such as vertical fins and perforated screens to regulate privacy, daylight, and ventilation to keep the interiors well-lit.” Landscape pockets within balconies soften the built mass and strengthen the indoor–outdoor relationship.
Overall, the façade achieves a clear balance between minimalism, functionality and material honesty.
“Designers define the ground level with a minimal entrance treatment that maintains human scale and streetscape continuity.”
“Designers design the ground floor to create a welcoming and functional entry while accommodating landscaped parking with a water body, an office space, a guest bedroom opening to a green court, a separate servant room, and other service spaces.”
Additional provisions such as a foyer, storage space and service areas enhance day-to-day usability. The ground floor layout clearly separates public and semi-private zones while maintaining fluid movement and spatial openness, resulting in a practical and well-lit, comfortable living environment.
A guest bedroom is provided on the ground floor to ensure convenience and privacy for visitors, complemented by an attached dressing and toilet. The staircase and lift are strategically located to allow smooth vertical circulation without disturbing the main living areas.
“Designers thoughtfully plan the first floor to provide privacy, comfort, and efficient well-lit circulation while maintaining visual connectivity with the lower level.”
A separate staircase opens into a well-lit family lounge, serving as a private living space for residents. “Designers thoughtfully integrate a dedicated pooja space within the plan, providing a quiet spiritual zone.”
The floor accommodates a spacious bedroom designed for comfort, with adequate wardrobe space and large window to ensure natural light and cross-ventilation. The master bedroom includes an attached toilet and dressing area, enhancing functionality and privacy.
Balconies and sit-out areas extend, offering outdoor interaction and enhancing the overall spatial experience.
The second floor is designed as a private and leisure zone, accommodating additional well-lit bedrooms and leisure spaces while ensuring comfort and functionality. The staircase opens into a compact family lobby, allowingcontrolled access to individual rooms.
This level includes well-proportioned bedrooms along with a multipurpose room that can function as a home office or study, a home theatre and a bar lounge, creating dedicated zones for entertainment and social interaction, it also includes a walk-in closet, improving comfort and spatial organization. Balconies extend the interior spaces, enhancing spatial quality through outdoor interaction and visual relief.
Overall, the second-floor design emphasizes privacy, adaptability and openness, responding to evolving family needs while maintaining architectural coherence with the residence.
The terrace floor is designed as a semi-private retreat, combining indoor comfort with open outdoor spaces. The staircase leads to a compact lobby that provides access to a well-planned bedroom, ensuring privacy and minimal circulation.
The bedroom is designed with a separate walk-in-wardrobe space and large openings for natural light and ventilation, supported by an attached toilet, further room extends into a balcony with panoramic views.
The remaining area is developed as an open terrace envisioned as an extension of the living spaces. Integrated with generous landscaping and a water body, the terrace creates a calm microclimate while enhancing visual and experiential quality. Designed to accommodate outdoor seating and recreational activities, the space remains flexible for future adaptations such as social gatherings, wellness activities or additional landscape interventions, reinforcing the overall indoor–outdoor living concept of the residence.
Services such as overhead water tanks, solar provisions, and drainage slopes are efficiently planned to maintain functionality without affecting usability.
Overall, the terrace floor offers a balanced mix of habitable space and open-to-sky areas. Thus, enhancing the living experience while maintaining architectural continuity with the lower floors. Balconies, recessed frames, and layered façades are used as architectural tools to regulate light, ventilation, and privacy. They add depth to the elevation.
