You may have heard about a new drain pipe repair technique called pipe relining but have no idea on how it can help you with your sewer line problems.
There may be different reasons on why your drains aren’t working. It could be due to pipe damage, years of accumulated blockage or root intrusion from nearby trees and shrubs.
How does pipe relining work, and why should you consider it instead of traditional drain repair methods?
Pipe relining is a new type of technology that can repair blocked, cracked or broken drain pipes.
The major difference between traditional pipe repair and pipe relining is that everything is done above the ground. This means there’s virtually no digging required, and therefore no damage to your property.
Furthermore, the new pipe that’s created inside the host pipe will be more durable and eliminates common pipe problems in the future, e.g., root intrusion, cracking, pipe separation and misaligned joints. Homeowners and business owners can get peace of mind knowing their drains won’t act up again in the near future.
The Relining Process
Pipe relining uses the same methods to carry out all kinds of drain issues. First, a professional technician conducts an inspection of your system using CCTV equipment. Real-time footage will reveal whether the root problem is caused by a collapsed pipe, misalignment, aged pipe material or missing sections.
Then, your drains are cleaned using the hydro-jetting procedure, flushing years of scale, debris and obstructions out and preparing the inner pipe for lining.
The technicians prepare a custom-manufactured bladder and liner, which is inserted to your drain and pulled into position. CCTV equipment ensures that the liner spans the damaged section of your pipes.
Compressed air inflates the liner and makes the special epoxy resin stick to the inner bore of the drain. After a few hours, the resin will have been cured and form a new pipe inside the old one. Technicians deflate the bladder and remove it, leaving a stronger structure that makes the drain work again.
To ensure the job is done properly, technicians conduct a final CCTV inspection of the drain. In just a few hours, you will have a fully-working drain that will last a long, long time.
Pipe Relining vs Traditional Drain Repair
Pipe relining is simple yet so effective that it beats out traditional pipe repair. The material that forms the inside of the pipe is smooth, seamless and many times stronger than PVC.
The relining process eliminates pipe replacement and excavations, as well as landscape restoration costs. It’s a non-destructive approach to drain repair and foregoes disruptions associated with traditional drain repairs, including traffic tie-ups, structural damage, trench excavation and more.
The new jointless structure also has a few benefits of its own. Calcification will be a thing of the past because debris won’t stick to the inner bore. It can withstand pressure better than traditional drain material and can even improve overall flow and capacity. It’s simply the smarter choice for when you need a speedy and satisfactory repair of your drain lines.
