  • User-Friendly Design For Dr. Ranade’s Dental Clinic And Implant Centre In Thane | Pahi Asotech : Flash – Creative Works

As the designing architect, this was one project which needed a complete 3D visualization of the space only on the content of its discussion while it was yet conceptualising in the mind of the client as a narrative. It was felt like the project was erected from the day one and now we were building, analysing the concept which was spatially already at work for this user-friendly design for Dr. Ranade’s Dental Clinic and Implant Centre in Thane.

Minimalistic, hygienic surroundings with ease to maintenance, quality spaces with multiple activity usage and user-friendly movement with inter-connectivity for the state-of-art Dental Clinic and Implant Centre, Botox & Fillers Spa was the basic brief received from the client Dr. Akshay Ranade for his dream project. Also, being one of the most established impantologist of the lake city of Thane, a central suburb of Mumbai, the overall set-up would look like a proto-type to inspire technical perfection with digital intelligence to give the patient a perfect line of treatment with the latest technology.

Built in a space designed for semi-commercial use, the biggest challenge was to meet the technical specifications for installing highly advanced instrumentations for the Restorative and the Operative sections of the clinic set up. We knew we had limitations with the height on this partially erected site and the aim here was definitely to retain all that was already existing.

The corporate outlook of the Clinic is to make the space feasible to imparting lectures, education and live skills or hands on experience for high end treatment programs. This required proper space management along with high-end interlinking digital connectivity between spaces.

Every inch of this Waiting cum Reception cum Connectivity Area were pre-conceived for its multiple utility with a completely minimalistic approach. Storage was confided to utilities with a bright white to allow it merge with the overall interior space and make it look light.

Effective use of articulation with wall highlights, paintings and the motivational phrase depicts the very sense of the space and was one way to make a direct impact on the visitor. Soothing lighting systems, clear texture and material colour pallet of pink, yellow, grey and black made a significant impact on the overall neutral colour scheme.

The common spaces like entrance and the semi covered terrace are carefully designed to impart the character to the space with a social cord and blending with the nature. Greens are a highlight of the semi-covered terrace adding recreation with the surroundings, place for discussions and coffee breaks.

The Client’s Consultation is a small breathing space which has a line work of simple geometry, giving the much-needed character to the area. Absolutely private yet open to all, this space makes a significant impact with display, artefacts, high-end table touch-screen for the client to explain the patient their line of treatment. The wall art work speak clearly of the way this multi-disciplinary clinic operates.

The parameters to meet the norms of the dental set-up move around the accessories like the compressor and the suction units with highly efficient plumbing work, which was a huge struggle to match on the expectations and the required perfection for uninterrupted and maintenance free functioning of the spaces.

We further to this, opted to work with simple geometry to create a clear interior rhythm with use of bright colours on a monochromatic colour theme and glossy finishes for the creating reflecting images and made aesthetics move around the making of this technically influenced project. T

he design process revolved essentially between the Operational room called Sterilization room and the operative units hosting instruments and material carefully nomenclated in the drawers. The hygiene norms require fumigation for which the walls were highlighted with glossy finish use of vitrified tiles.

We had to consider every constraint at site with actual mock up measurements until we ascertained to meet the technical expertise of the dental chair selected by the client according to the high-end treatments conducted as their routine work.
