Thoughtful Blending of Function and Aesthetics, This Home Brings Out a Subtle yet Modern Setting | Design Manish Manglaw

Visit: Design Manish Manglaw

The client approached us with this three-bedroom apartment house located in the city of Surat. A thoughtful blending of function and aesthetics, this home brings out a subtle yet modern setting. The residence photographed by Studio 2:3, has a design-friendly approach with the use of earthen tones and minimum organic patterns that bring out the modernity with a touch of contemporary. Paired with luxe of marble and bespoke furniture makes it a perfect indoor environment.

The first glimpse of the apartment exterior foyer welcomes with a calm white Italian marble with hues of brown impressions and green climbers that becomes a perfect backdrop for this customized name plate which is finished with brass coating. The wall is flanked by a shoe rack that is in the same color tone as the main gate that helps it to merge easily. The safety door is made of wood and has an organic shaped grill design encased with brass sheet complementing the organic shape which adds security and style to the entrance.

As one enters, the vestibule area with its neutral palette, marble floors and arched niche brings out the coziness to the space. Whereas one thing that stands out is the wall cladded beautiful arched onyx with random dark brown figures.

The wall is flanked by a curved glass partition bringing in a sense of continuing with the curve which leads us to the large living room. Here one cannot miss the green indoor plant potted in a ceramic vase enhancing the curved glass corner. This definitely reminds of beauty lies in the little details.

The Italian marble floors continue to extend into the living room and other spaces further which gives a visual openness to the layout. The seating area is designed with an olive grey L-cornered sofa and highlighting orange colored arm chairs.

The seating arrangement combined to create a minimal vibe to form decluttered space facing this large tv unit wall. This wall has a backdrop of eye-catching Brazilian marble and copper coated frame tv unit. The vertical white equidistant grooves contrast the marble and also hide the bedroom doors very easily and gives a complete continuation to the wall paneling.

The living room wall is paneled with dark wooden veneer and the vertical groove details at random distance is followed here too, allowing it to become an understated backdrop for the furniture pieces. One might notice fluted copper profile glass shutters which opens into the mandir space. Over all wood and glass blend to give a tone of warmth as well as a touch of chic.

The opposite side of the paneling wall is a copper profile sliding glass partition which divides the home theatre & living room. As a matter of fact, visually it keeps the space as light as possible. The partition opens up with ease and blends into one large room.

To absorb the sound, acoustic panels are incorporated into the design in a way that it casts a beautiful design. A rustic finish CNC cut work in laminate is planned which complements the subtle grey and olive comfortable furniture pieces.. When both the spaces are unified, due to rustic backdrop the orange color arm chairs bring the vibrancy and playfulness to the whole area.

The 6-seater dining area is designed around a flowing wooden panel to achieve the desired fluidity of an open plan. The panel backdrop extends all the way from mandir profile shutter to the washbasin area, creating an organic flow and an unedged form making it very subtle with simple lines and a flowing wash basin counter. The circular mirrors add the electric touch to it.

The dark marble dining table compliments the light marble flooring flanked against the green climber partition. The green climbers and metal frame was installed to fulfil the client’s desire for a closed kitchen, leaving plenty of room for the dining table and facilitating easy transit.

The kitchen with its neutral palette and clean lines combined to create a minimal vibe forming a functional C shaped kitchen, flanked with tall units on the opposite site creates the  ease. Platform with natural granite, grey hi-gloss modular cabinets and marble with green hue figures inlayed with copper Patti brings out well balanced aesthetics.

The master bedroom creates a visual dichotomy across the space with the use of olive greens and ochre, a plethora of organic and linear patterns through groove details, linen, leather, marble table tops alongside a calming neutral palate.

The bed has linear groove pattern, that contrasts the organic pattern in the backdrop adding some visual interest. Ochre couch with a stylish organic shape and the floating unit performs a well balancing act here.

The room is so well lit during the day due to the full height French windows. Even the walk-in wardrobe and washrooms are of same color language with marble walls and floors.

The son bedroom, which features a bluish grey bed complimented by linear pattern marble table top is the space that was assembles in itself. The highlight of the room is this sand-colored arched window seating with a linear pattern. A full-height copper profile mirror and accessories, complete the space.

The bathroom has an inverted arched display with lots of green plants is so refreshing to the eyes. Dark colored walls and light-colored marble floor is used here.

The guest bedroom, which features a brown leather bed and is flanked against framed attractive Italian marble with random bold figures. The slit window against side table and the full height window overflows the room with sunlight. The black metal showcase frame accents the over all theme of the bedroom.

Each bedroom is characterized by one defining element added to its furniture. Experimentation with different neutral colors was done to keep its neutral yet playful vibe alive. The home needed to make the occupants feel at ease. It was to be converted into a welcoming sanctuary. Our design team tried to represent and replicate the simplicity and peace we felt within.

Behind the seating arrangement, the living room transits into a long balcony through aluminum sliding glass French doors. Light pours into the living room through this balcony, which also offers a beautiful view to the outdoors. Green wall addressed with the wooden figure ceramic tiles brings out a perfect mood to enjoy on a balcony swing.
