This Workspace Design Of Is Spread Across A Whopping 70,000 Sq. ft. Area | Ultraconfidentiel Design
Continuing McKinsey’s legacy of refined and functional environments, the workspace design seeks to redefine luxury through clarity, craft, and comfort. Every detail, texture, and material has been curated to celebrate the essence of exclusivity while maintaining the firm’s understated elegance.
The guiding philosophy remains rooted in people—a space designed for people, by people. Decades of meaningful placemaking, daylight-filled corridors, and immersive landscapes inspired a bold reimagination—a level up that honors familiarity while embracing the future of work.
At the core of the workspace design lies the courtyard—the most cherished architectural element drawn from McKinsey’s previous environment. Reintroduced as the centerpiece of the new office, it becomes a spatial and emotional anchor that ties together the entire experience.
The arrival sequence opens into a crafted composition of water, landscape and light. A fabric ceiling mimics natural skylight and vertical architectural elements break linear monotony, creating the illusion of an open-air courtyard that blurs the boundaries between built form and nature.
The courtyard in the social library seamlessly bridges formality and warmth—a social nucleus that encourages spontaneous interaction. Moving through the client suite, the courtyard unfolds again, offering lush green vistas and privacy that bring the outside in, reinforcing calm and focus.
Transitioning to the employee neighborhoods, the design emphasizes a balance between collaboration and concentration. Long stretches of workspace are punctuated with creative breakout zones—encouraging connection, dialogue, and serendipitous encounters.
Flexible, multi-purpose zones allow for effortless transformation—from intimate discussions to collective forums—reflecting McKinsey’s adaptive work culture.
Every layer of the project reflects attention to detail and precision. From handpicked marbles and boldveneers to sculptural elements and curated artworks, the design celebrates craftsmanship and context.Acoustic baffles and open sightlines enhance spatial flow, while biophilic elements infuse vitality and connection to nature.
The result is an environment that harmonizes function and finesse, structure and softness—a timeless workplace that resonates with McKinsey’s ethos of excellence.
The project represents more than an architectural achievement—it symbolizes a shared vision of what the modern workplace can be: a living ecosystem of collaboration, clarity, and calm.
By merging human-centric design with new-age luxury, Ultraconfidentiel and McKinsey & Company have together created a workplace that feels both grounded and elevated—a space where productivity and purpose coexist effortlessly, and where nature once again takes its rightful place at the heart of work.
