This Vibrant Home Is Inspired By The Shades Of A Gulmohar Flower | V’ Atelier

[Sassy_Social_Share]

The designers planned Gulmohar as a vibrant home inspired by the grounded palette of the Gulmohar flower. Shades of maroon, green, and cream form the core of the design language, creating a strong visual foundation that flows seamlessly across the residence. Designed for a family of four, each with a distinct personality and rhythm, the home allows individual spaces to express unique moods while remaining connected through a shared palette and material language.

Traditional motifs, layered patterns, and bold colours infuse the interiors with character and cultural depth, giving each room its own identity. Designers carefully balance these expressive elements with white surfaces and warm wooden textures, which soften the composition and unify the spaces. Gulmohar emerges as a thoughtfully layered vibrant home, one that balances tradition with a modern approach, individuality with cohesion, and richness with clarity.

Living room

A deep maroon safety door opens into a compact yet expressive volume, where an arched motif wallpaper introduces a subtle sense of heritage. The living room is planned as a calm, functional space anchored by a neutral seating arrangement. A beige three-seater sofa is paired with two deep maroon armchairs, forming a compact and comfortable layout. At the centre, a round wooden coffee table sits on a muted patterned rug, grounding the composition. Designers articulate the wall behind the sofa with a series of recessed vertical panels, fitting each with a warm wall sconce that introduces soft, ambient lighting. Cushions in maroon and subtle prints, along with a light throw, add gentle layers of texture. Few decorative objects on the coffee table bring in small accents of colour, while the overall palette remains light and restrained.

Dining

The dining area flows seamlessly from the living room, conceived as a shared space for gathering and connection. Anchored by a solid wooden table, the setting balances visual weight with comfort. Upholstered seating and a custom bench introduce variation, while wallpaper and wall-mounted lighting add depth without overwhelming the space. The dining area remains visually connected to the rest of the home, reinforcing the continuity of the plan.

Kitchen

The kitchen is designed as visually cohesive extension of the living areas. A restrained palette forms the backdrop, allowing material contrasts to subtly articulate the space. Cabinets remain clean-lined and understated, while metal accents introduce a measured warmth. Designers choose the work surfaces for durability and ease of use, complementing them with a textured backsplash that adds character without drawing undue attention.

Passage

Designers treat the common basin area along the passage as a moment rather than an afterthought. Deep green handcrafted tiles and vintage-inspired ceramic elements introduce a tactile richness. Designers compose the sculpted granite basin and brass-framed mirror as a quiet focal point, transforming a functional pause into a considered spatial experience.

Daughters’ bedroom

Designers conceived the daughter’s bedroom as a serene, layered space. Soft off-white walls subtly display hand-embossed botanical motifs, which create texture without visual noise. Deep green accents ground the room, while furniture elements remain restrained and proportionate.

Designers integrate a compact study nook alongside the bed, offering a functional yet inviting corner for reading or work, seamlessly weaving it into the room’s overall composition.

Sons’ bedroom

The son’s bedroom adopts a slightly more expressive language. Layered blues and classic patterns introduce warmth, while an artisanal plaster- finished accent wall anchors the bed. A circular backlit installation becomes a subtle focal point, adding depth and atmosphere without dominating the room.

Storage solutions balance transparency and solidity, ensuring the space remains uncluttered and visually light. A floating desk completes the room, offering a dedicated corner for focus and reflection.

Parents’ bedroom

The parents’ bedroom continues the home’s calm sensibility, expressed through warmer tones and framed detailing.

Textured wall treatments and layered textiles create a restful environment, while repeated furniture elements across bedrooms establish visual continuity.

Designers integrate a combined study and vanity zone into the room’s layout, reinforcing the idea of multifunctional living without compromising spatial clarity.

Lifestyle Focus

The vibrant home is designed around the everyday rhythms of its occupants, where comfort and ease of use take precedence over formal display. Spaces are planned to support routine activities like rest, work, gathering, and quiet moments, while remaining visually calm and adaptable. Across the apartment, the design resists overt statements. Instead, it relies on proportion, material tactility, and thoughtful detailing to support everyday living. The designers create a vibrant home that feels contemporary yet rooted, softening modern planning with warmth and quietly enhancing the rhythms of daily life through design.
