This Restaurant Is Redesigned For A Fine Dining Experience | Design Warehouse

The Blue Channel is a fine dining restaurant that has been entertaining the great and the good, for more than 25 years. Housed in Hotel Sapphire, Haryana, it covers an area of 1300 Sq.ft. This restaurant is redesigned for a fine dining experience that elevates the mood and compliments the multicuisine. We designed the interiors and brand keeping in mind the central theme of balance and visual harmony yet a reminiscing the old charm.

The design starts with the connection between hotel lobby and the long corridor that leads to the restaurant. The wooden door with double glass reflecting the marble inlay floor connects the indoor and outdoor and turns the experience from a public space to a private dining.

The restaurant offers a variety of seating options: sofas, chairs, private sitting, bar stools, booths while the strong symmetry in the space leads to a comforting dining experience.

The bar forms the focal point with accentuated lighting, marble finished counter and metal details and unique mid-century bar stools.

Devoting a great deal of thought to surface treatments, the restaurant is a blend of contemporary and art deco elements and replete with textural play. Influenced by the hotel’s existing theme and the name Blue Channel, cosy booth sitting is created with splashes of blues in fabrics and wall panelling – complemented by arches, honed by marble table tops, gold accents and metal jaali’s.

This together creates an overall experience that takes you back in the 1920’s era and serves you the class and richness.

The main challenge was to make the most of the existing interior height and services and to integrate the spaces clearly and uniformly. Our approach was to highlight the geometric ceiling and transform the minimalist design by custom designed lights. That combined with soft fabric, pattern wallpaper and warm hues create a magical lighting quality to the space.

The renovation of the window treatment responds to daytime and night-time use- where the lattice and sheer panels allow in filtered light and landscape in daytime and become the main visual point in the night.

Blue Channel is one of the most famous restaurants of the city and hence, for the diner’s experience to be complete, it was important to add a unique character to the space through interiors as much as with food.
