This interior design project has a symphony of elegance and modernity | Studio Threshold
The client’s directive was clear: they desired a home that would stand out amidst the sea of conventional designs. Studio Threshold embraced this challenge, embarking on a creative journey that would redefine the concept of modern living.
At the core of Das House’s distinctive charm is the prominent use of solid color “Blue” in PU finish as a key design element. This bold choice infuses the space with modernity and sophistication. The central axis of the house serves as a dividing line, leading to rooms on either side.
At the terminus of this axis lies the Mandir, a sacred space that assumes the role of the home’s “hero.” The Mandir is a visual spectacle with metallic PU-finished screen doors, creating a captivating focal point visible from the entry.
The living and dining areas seamlessly merge into a single, expansive space, amplified by a shade of blue -finished display unit that commands attention.
The balconies extending from the living room offer a retreat adorned with patterned tile flooring and chic outdoor furniture—an ideal spot for relaxation.
The kitchen, a functional hub of the house, boasts grey speckled granite countertops and dado. Olive green glass shutters and matte black handles inject a splash of color and visual intrigue, contributing to the overall contemporary and sleek aesthetic.
The 14-year-old’s room radiates vibrancy and playfulness, featuring a harmonious blend of green pastel hues, textured wallpaper, and a mix of terrazzo and subway tiles in the bathroom.
This combination creates an energetic and joyful atmosphere, tailored to the tastes of its young occupant.
The master bedroom, designed with a softer palette, features wooden fluted panelling on one wall, creating a warm and inviting retreat—a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.
In contrast, the elder kid’s room exudes sophistication, featuring veneer panelling, a large white solid color study table, and a solid blue color finished dressing table. This space balances maturity with refined design elements.
Das House stands as a living testament to Studio Threshold’s prowess in crafting interiors that transcend the ordinary. Sandesh Rane and Chirag Kapadia have not only met the client’s brief but have elevated the concept of distinctive design through their innovative use of materials and thoughtful design choices. Das House is not just a residence; it’s a masterpiece that captures the essence of contemporary living in the bustling city of Mumbai.
