This Interior Design For 3 BHK Transforms An Empty Shell Into A Dream Home | The Black Touch

Designing a home from scratch is a challenge and a dream hand in hand — this interior design for 3 BHK was a dream come true. While we first visited this apartment, it was just an empty shell: no furniture, no finishes, just plain walls waiting for a story. With this, the client’s brief was quite transparent & simple — “modern, clean, and comforting.”

The awesome part here was a design journey where every corner was thought in and out, every texture was chosen with an intention, and every space was imagined to be shaped to feel like a warm peaceful home. From smart aesthetic styling to space planning and warm lighting — here’s how we transformed this space into a modern retreat you will want to live in.

Living Room

Worked hand-in-hand with modern functionality and curated aesthetics, the living room here was designed with a neutral base. While having the love towards art, the niche for wall art was eye-catching. It made an aura of artistic gallery featuring a striking mix of sculptural décor, tribal masks, abstract forms, and thoughtful lighting, each with its own personality.

A plush L-shaped grey sofa offers ample seating, while setting the tone for cozy movie nights or intimate get-togethers. The soft rug beneath and the warm ambient lighting from the ceiling add a homey, welcoming feel.

A sleek TV unit with built-in drawers and twin ottomans on the opposite wall make a twin of entertainment and utility. This is ideal for modern compact living. Adding the pop of color in the hanging pendant light adds just the right amount of playfulness without disturbing the overall elegant vibe.

Dining Area

The dining area offers easy maintenance and brings in a touch of elegance. The white dining table extends to maximize seating without crowding the space. Soft beige upholstered chairs and a built-in bench complete the arrangement. The crockery selection in oceanic green tones subtly introduces color while maintaining the calm palette.

With the idea of enlarging the space while reflecting the artistic elements from the living room, a large wall-mounted mirror creates visual continuity. Above, warm indirect lighting casts a soft glow, enhancing the intimate dining experience without being overpowering.

Collectively, the living and dining space blend seamlessly, combined by a muted color scheme, thoughtful lighting, and a shared commitment to both beauty and utility. This is not just a space to eat and relax — it’s a space that tells a story.

Natural light fills the room during the day, while the ambient lighting at night creates the perfect retreat after a long day. It’s a space where comfort meets elegance.

Guest Bedroom

The guest bedroom had a standout feature which was a stylish yellow sofa that quickly brightened up the room with an invisible bed. Overall this space is vibrant, inviting, and filled with charm while offering functionality – comfortable sitting and a good night sleep.

This room welcomes your guests and makes them feel at home, whether they stay for a night or a week. We have also added a foldable working table here to ensure a dedicated space to work when required.

Parents’ Bedroom

Curated for the parents, this bedroom reflects timeless design paired with deep brown and matching wardrobe. The space is warm, grounded, and filled with subtle sophistication. It was clear that comfort and functionalities were priorities here, however, making it ideal for older family members who prefer a classic, clutter-free setting.

From its color palette to its furniture, everything about this room speaks of care, tradition, and elegance.

Both bathrooms in this home are no less than luxurious. Designed with client comforts, high-quality fixtures, and a modern aesthetic, they lift the everyday experience.

Giving each bathroom a spa-like atmosphere, we had a thoughtful layout, coupled with ambient lighting and sleek finishes. Whether it be a rush morning or a relaxing shower session, the bathrooms cater to ease and style.

Right outside the common bathroom is an elegant standalone wash basin area. With a beautifully framed mirror, ambient lighting, and premium fittings, this corner is designed far from just a functional addition to simply impress. It serves as a fine design statement within the home.
