The primary goal was, however, to craft an aesthetically pleasing environment. One that not only captivates visually but also transcends clients to a different realm during their salon experience. The design concept orbits around the notion of luxury in minimalism.
Furthermore, drawing inspiration from the salon’s core theme of skin and hair, the colour palette mirrors the tones found in these natural elements. Additionally, the edgeless corners, reminiscent of human skin, were carefully crafted using a lime-based texture.
This foundation is supported by an aluminium and plywood frame with P.O.P. moulding. Thereby, forming an arch-shaped structure that not only serves an aesthetic purpose but also contributes to the overall structural integrity.
The unisex nature of the salon is, however, subtly conveyed through minimalistic artworks strategically placed throughout the space. The arched entrance door, employing a counterweight mechanism, ensures a soft closure, enhancing the overall experience for clients.
Emphasizing the brand identity, the salon’s name is elegantly etched onto a natural stone at the entrance, embracing a raw and authentic touch that resonates with the salon’s ethos.
Attention to detail is evident in the choice of terrazzo tiles for flooring; this decision was not solely based on their unique aesthetic appeal but also on their practical purpose of reducing the visibility of cut hair during peak hours, thus maintaining a clean look throughout the day.
Sustainability takes centre stage in the salon’s design philosophy, with a conscious choice of reusable furniture, lime-based wall and ceiling textures, and carefully selected loose furniture. Fire safety measures have been meticulously planned, considering the operation of various equipment simultaneously within the salon. A strategically placed back door provides direct access to the fire exit, ensuring a swift and safe evacuation in case of emergencies.
Beyond aesthetics and functionality, one can witness a contribution to the promotion of local craftsmanship and artisanal skills. The Premium Grooming Room features the same furniture created using the traditional weaving technique known as Kharadi work. This design approach not only raises awareness about local crafts but also provides vital support to the artisans, adding a unique and cultural dimension to the salon’s ambiance.
A thoughtful design indeed, this salon seamlessly blends modern luxury, minimalism, and sustainability with a strong commitment to local craftsmanship while maintaining a brand identity, with its narrative extending far beyond a conventional grooming space.
