This residential duplex home was spread across 2 storeys, for one big family. Full of specks of character, this project showcases clean geometry and emphasizes subtle details. The design draws inspiration from the various windows in the space, using natural light and ventilation to their fullest. We brought in a lot of raw textures – cane and cladding, and balanced it with a muted overall canvas. Multiple pieces of art and décor also tied the space together. All in all, we achieved a duplex home that whispered of the light and air, a space that’s easy on the eye and soothing by nature.
This Duplex Home Is Full Of Character And Clean Geometry | M.AD Studio
Across the geometric rug, the couch, armchair and bench create a beautiful and intimate conversation space. The beautiful marble mosaic behind the TV adds depth and character to the space and challenge the firm geometric lines.
The rich table top of the dining table is completed with the abstract legs and the simple dining chairs. The space is given so much character by the collage of art and texture paint, across each other.
This bedroom maintains a minimal style, characterised by the stone headboard and geometric tiles, also zoning the space. The beige backdrop is completed with the hues of blush and stone, additionally, a comfortable seater is added on one corner with an abstract geometric print framing it above.
This young and lively mint bedroom is complimented by the rawness of cane in this bedroom. Clean lines and soft mouldings and natural cane accents create a calming retreat, while the artwork adds the perfect amount of sophistication.
With a beautiful geometric pattern forming the backdrop, we incorporated this soft blush couch, muted poufs and this abstract rug on the floor in the living room. Complimenting all the light coming in through the large window on one side, we used light, but bold materials for the tops and walls.
For the Dining space, we went easy with one emphasis wall and everything else rather subtle. Another element we added, were the legs of the dining – geometric and bold. Everything else was rather muted and light, the chairs, the bench, the walls – all of it.
This bedroom combines subtle beige tones and luxurious fluted tiles to create a space of understated elegance. The balance of clean lines and sophisticated finishes brings both tranquillity and timeless style to the forefront.
Across the levels, some of the elements that we adore was how we utilised colours and textures. In some areas, we made our cladding the emphasis, in TV Units and headboards and in others, we broke the minimal monotone by using patterns on the floor which served dual purpose – zoning and emphasis. The use of cane and lines truly helped us make a space that’s young, fun and yet, calm.
We went for a muted minimal style in this duplex home while also incorporating multiple elements of emphasis across the space. Art pieces and décor truly balance out the firm geometry observed along.
