  • This Apartment Delves into Minimal and Effective Residence Design Styles | Foresight Associates

An upgrade to cost-friendly living, this apartment delves into minimal and effective residence design styles. Spread across an area of 990 sq.ft, this apartment is the brainchild of Vadodara-based architecture firm, Foresight Associates. ‘Ashray Elegance’ mirrors the ideation of the firm and its passion to deliver the best within a constrained timeframe. Upon entering the house, the foyer is seen in an elegant pairing of ivory-coloured fluted panelling along with the dark complexion and treatment of veneer. The living room is indulged in a confluence of elements. The adjacent walls open up to the balcony beyond. The entire wall slides open to filter in light and air ventilation, making the space doused with liveliness and positivity.

Editor’s note : “Captivating minimalism.” Embracing the essence of minimalism, this trendsetter sets the tone for the ever-evolving times. Within this apartment, one is greeted by clean lines and exquisite wooden fluted walls, harmoniously complemented by timeless furnishings. The living area’s elegant arches bestow a distinctive and personal flair upon an otherwise uniform space. ~ Venessa Thomas (Co-Editor)

The dwelling has an evident affinity for arches, as elements of detailing and as space-defining mediums. The back wall of the living room has an arched narrative, with an impressive skin of veneer cut out in 5 arches, revealing the recessed shapes inlaid in beautiful flutings.

The ceiling also exposes an ornate set of details, having curved surfaces and edges to sit well with the overall design language of the house. The pastel pink hue of the couch is a bold selection, a profound choice which elevates the colour and the texture experience altogether. It complements the entire setting while having its colourful muse.

The seamless transition between the living and dining areas is devoid of any disturbance, for the T.V. unit partition acts as one of its own graciously. The longevity of this space separating apparatus gives a hint of the dining area from the living room. The appropriate portion of the veneer and glass surface doesn’t entirely detach the two common spaces. The two fluted glass arches of the partition wall are designed as a T.V. unit. It indicates a translucent nature, delicate yet robust with its fluted surface.

The dining area happens to be the place where stories are shared at the end of the day over a soulful cuppa. The disc-shaped dining table fosters a cosy and personal space. Enriched with a brass-tinted lamp hanging over the centre of the table, the support of the table is layered with a fluted panel. The two sides of the dining area consist of an open kitchen, while the other side opens up to a floor-to-ceiling window. The treatment of the ceiling is concentrated only over the dining space, keeping it minimal while focusing and highlighting the dining vicinity only. A circular cut-out on the ceiling over the dining table is injected with a bison panel.

The three bedrooms have a decent approach to them—the master bedroom votes for a simple yet impactful design. The impending and effective usage of white shade with teak wood fluting design speaks of a sensible choice.

A scooped-out corner beside the bed makes up for a corner for reading or just taking in the bedroom. The wardrobe detailing is smart and responsive in terms of functionality and aesthetics. An angled slit on the side of the wardrobe acts like a handle to slide open a side of it.

The second master bedroom is donned with subtle design aspects. Grey veneer makes up for the backdrop of the bed setting. A symbolic light fixture is the highlight of the room, completing the entire setting.

A framed confine serves as the ideal background for this guest bedroom. A window on the back is curtained with a patterned blind, appearing as an artful backdrop.

The third bedroom is smeared in pastel hues. The recessed arch wall has a satisfying waffle-shaped set-up in the colour of powder blue. The apartment has features that associate with nature. The fabrics and linens of the bedrooms and the gilded circular paintings included across the spaces have hints of design connecting to nature.

A commonality like this binds the spaces together. In many ways, foresight associates have curated a derivative that encompasses the dwelling as one through its intrinsic design methods.
