When the team at Elysian Designs Studio was handed a raw, 6300 sq. ft. open space with only the structural framework in place, it was both a challenge and an opportunity to craft a functional yet aesthetically unique office for Sharadchandra P Shah Agency Pvt. Ltd., a family-run business with a rich legacy. Our client was clear: “Create an office that stands apart, blending utility with extraordinary design while following the principles of Vastu. ” Guided by this vision, the designers seamlessly combined modern aesthetics with Vastu principles.
This Aesthetic Office Blends Modern Design With Vastu Principles | Elysian Designs Studio
Intricately hand-carved wooden idols of the 32 Avatars of Ganeshji stand to the left of the central reception desk, while an idol of Kuberji graces the right, filling the space with an aura of prosperity and devotion. The desk itself features a sleek Onyx marble top complemented by a metallic sheet. This balances timeless elegance with a modern touch.
This office stands apart in its design. The reception lounge sets the tone with a seamless blend of contemporary design and thoughtful symbolism. The east wall features a stunning Sun and Seven Horses’ Chariot mural, symbolizing the sunrise and radiating positivity and strength. Rooted in Vastu Shastra, the seven horses represent the seven chakras, fostering harmony and success. Meticulously crafted with fibreglass casting and detailed with vibrant VIBGYOR hues in the horses’ eyes, the mural creates an awe-inspiring atmosphere.
A thoughtfully designed horseshoe-shaped sofa adds to the charm, complemented by earthy elements like plants and artifacts, while its connection to the office Mandir enhances the uniqueness of the waiting lounge. A sliding glass partition separates the spaces, allowing the lounge to expand for larger gatherings during special Occasions.
The thoughtfully designed mandir area reflects purity, spirituality, and harmony. The wooden flooring strengthens the connection to nature, while a breathtaking Sahasrara Chakra with 1,000 lotus petals adorns the ceiling. The central idol of Ashta Lakshmi, representing divine blessings and prosperity, complements the crown chakra, symbolizing the pinnacle of energy. Crafted from wood and painted in soft lotus hues, the space radiates tranquility.
Following Vastu principles, the mandir incorporates Sriyantra and Hanuman Yantra on the left. Moreover, it is carefully included to meet our client-specific requirements. Magnificent hand-painted canvas paintings of Tirupati Balaji and Padmavati Mataji, measuring 10 x 6 feet, serve as the centerpiece of the space. Meticulously crafted over 60 days, these masterpieces symbolize the greatness of the divine and are visible from the main entrance. Thus, serving as a powerful focal point for all who enter.
One of the standout challenges was integrating two distinct entrances to ensure seamless workflows. The first entrance welcomes visitors and facilitates their documentation processes in the reception area. The second entrance, reserved for business guests and staff, promotes uninterrupted workflow and efficient operations.
Beyond the second entrance, a 30-ft-long world map becomes an instant focal point. Crafted 3D Textured effect, the map features a resin-art back sea with India prominently highlighted in a larger size. This artistic centerpiece not only conveys a patriotic sentiment but also reflects the company’s extensive customs-related operations across India’s ports. Conceptualized by designers Umesh and Upasna, this remarkable wall art represents the global and domestic reach of the business. Additionally, it leaves a lasting impression on staff and visitors alike.
The design of the staff area ensures simplicity, elegance, functionality, and comfort, all while maximizing productivity. MS-framed desks topped with laminate enhance durability, while magnetic glass boards on each desk offer a sleek surface for note-taking. Pathways run on both sides of the staff area, creating easy access and movement.
To the left is the Directors’ Cabin, offering an uninterrupted view of the staff area, while on the right are the Conference Room, Accounts Section, Printing Station, and Meeting Room. Heightened storage at the edge of each desk adds a unique design element. Furthermore, it serves both as storage and a platform for greenery. Prioritizing Mr. Shah and his family’s preference for transparency, the see-through design between the staff area and cabins fosters openness and collaboration.
At the heart of the office lies the Brahmasthan, a sacred centerpiece designed with spiritual and architectural precision. It features a hand-carved wooden idol of Lord Vishnu’s Varaha Avatar, holding a globe with a finely engraved Sriyantra on its tusks—symbolizing the restoration of balance in the universe. The Brahmayantra on the ceiling above showcases 512 fish and 512 turtles, representing good luck and prosperity—a unique design, likely the first of its kind in the world.
The conference room stands out with a beautiful Kailash Mansarovar mural, depicting the South, East, North, and West views of Mount Kailash, infusing the space with significant meaning. This mural creates a serene backdrop, elevating the atmosphere for focused discussions.
The bold maroon seating adds vibrancy to the room, promoting an engaging and dynamic environment for conversations. The conference table is crafted with a refined veneer top and features a smart movable electric track, ensuring seamless connectivity for meetings.
Thoughtful design elements such as carpet flooring and acoustic panels enhance both comfort and sound insulation, balancing form and function. The room’s layout encourages productivity, making it the ideal space for strategic discussions and collaboration.
M D’s cabin is designed to reflect his leadership and vision, offering a space that exudes strength, authority, and balance. The cabin, located in the southwest corner, follows Vastu principles, creating an environment of reflection, focus, and empowerment.
The standout feature is the wooden table with a diamond design, symbolizing strength and foresight. The 125-year-old BTC natural wood flooring adds a historic, harmonious touch to the space, enriching the atmosphere with tradition.
A cozy seating area beside the table is surrounded by lush greenery and filled with natural light, enhancing the cabin’s peaceful ambiance. The thoughtful integration of nature and light creates a perfect balance of work and calm, making it an ideal environment for both reflection and leadership.
The Director’s Cabin: There are four director’s cabins, each with glass walls to maintain transparency and a clear view between the cabins and the staff.
One of the cabins features a bookshelf area paired with café-style seating with rug and a plant to give green vibes, creating a cozy and refreshing environment.
The cabin features an aesthetic and contemporary sleek design, offering a spacious feel. The moonstone Italian marble used for the table, paired with the metallic sheet, gives the cabin an exceptional look, further accentuated by the elegant hanging light.
The uniqueness of the cabin lies in the thoughtfully designed table, crafted from onyx marble and an MS frame. The table legs are specially designed not just for support but also as a feature to store essentials like bags, magazines, and other items, ensuring organization and convenience.
Redefining open spaces with sleek transparent glass partitions framed in black, bringing in light, clarity, and flow.
Paired with sustainable carpet flooring and subtle yet striking furniture, this design strikes the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetic charm.
The L-shaped balcony area features vinyl carpet flooring that mimics the look of concrete, with intricate cutting and patterns created to enhance the aesthetic appeal. Lush greens line the path, infusing the space with a natural, refreshing atmosphere, while the ceiling comes alive with additional greenery mounted on MDF for a seamless, organic feel.
