This Pune house belongs to a family that has recently moved from Agra to Pune. In our first meeting, the clients expressed their wish for a “Family Home” that would evoke the essence of their hometown, giving us complete creative freedom over the design and execution process. Inspired by their unique personalities and preferences, we opted for a neutral color scheme (white, grey, beige) to establish a foundation of contemporary aesthetics, punctuated with subtle touches of color that harmoniously transition between spaces.
The Pune House Punctuates with Subtle Colour in a Foundation of Contemporary Style | Studio 8
Upon entering the foyer, which leads into the living room, one encounters expansive open spaces infused with warmth through the use of veneer accents.
The living room in this Pune house, predominantly pristine white as per the client’s wishes, focuses on design elements rather than color tones.
An ascending wave-textured wall panel serves as a striking yet calming feature upon entering, complemented by furniture designed to enhance its visual impact.
The entertainment room features a distinctive circular bar crafted from metal frames and wood. It breaks away from the linear forms of the house while adding an eye-catching design element.
The ceiling design in the entertainment room draws inspiration from tiered steps. Therefore, creating varying levels within the space with a simple yet impactful grooved pattern.
The dining area seamlessly connects to the entertainment room through a sliding partition crafted with metal framing and veneer paneling. These sliding doors not only serve a practical purpose but also add to the aesthetic appeal of both spaces.
Grooved walls with metal accents extend from the living area into the dining space, where a custom-made console unit in subtle green hues, accented with rope lights, provides a soothing highlight against the marble tabletop and monochrome chairs.
The son envisioned a room with a dark, moody ambiance. Drawing inspiration from his vision, the room predominantly features various design elements.
It consists of black-tinted glass sliding wardrobe, a marble bed back adorned with grooved panels and mirrors. The furniture has been intentionally kept minimal to highlight these design elements.
Along the entrance wall, a custom-made console unit in dark grey serves as a versatile piece. It also displays artifacts, artwork, and a plant to infuse vitality into the bedroom.
The study room serves multiple functions for the family, accommodating frequent visits from relatives. It also functions as a workspace for studying or working from home when required.
The study table is ingeniously designed with wooden framing along the wall. It also provide both a dedicated study area and comfortable seating for guests. In the bedroom, a Murphy bed offers a practical solution, featuring a teal grooved panel. Additionally, it conceals not only the bed and wardrobe storage but also the bathroom door.
