“The Mono Home” Speaks Of Grandeur & Subtlety, While Keeping A Balanced Colour Palette | Tan Teal Studio

Subtlety beholds in the eye of the viewer. For some, white stands as the language for subtleness, while for some others, it could rest in dark tones but minimal furniture. “The Mono Home” speaks of grandeur & subtlety, while keeping a balanced colour palette. The requirements & inclination of choices largely varied from each room & user, yet striking a balance to curate the perfectly Monochromatic house.

“The sheer power and generosity of the color white are tested in this Mumbai apartment. Its flexible and accommodating nature is seen by the occasional pop of tints intertwined with lavish lighting companions.” – Nishal Sevak(Co-Editor)

The long entranceway is glorified using 3 layered profile lights of varied lengths to break the monotony, and a narrow mirror adds to the depth creating an illusion of a wider space.

The entrance ends with an arched frame, creating the perfect setting towards the Living & Dining room, where a display of beige & gold portray their beauty. Nested towards the balcony, a setup of sofa & armchairs has been made to promote the essence of a warm gathering space.

Along the walls, we yet again break the monotony of the mouldings by designing different sized frames, with mirror & a gold profile inlay creating a statement. Capturing this beauty, is a bold gold frame sitting above the mouldings, a canvasless masterpiece.

Along the other side of the room, a custom made marble dining table, with gold legs, ahead of a console table blending its beauty in the background, sits against a fearlessly elegant piece of marble, striking its beauty in a grey base with specs of orange red.

The contrast between the wall cladded marble and the rest of the room, creates a strong emotion of awe & surprise.

Yet another chiselled beauty rests in the master bedroom on The Mono Home, where an ambience of no less than a beautiful hotel room, casts it beauty.

With a full height wardrobe, headboard, mirror & curtains; the room portrays grandeur of a scale unmatched! The profile lights inlaid from two opposite ends of the room, create a frame towards the wardrobe, which display a solid beige palette with rose gold profiles.

Tuning in to the sanctity of the user, the second bedroom is designed for the mother, which displays white frame with mouldings on all walls, while throwing a hint of gold in the hardware.

The mirror against the room door casts an illusion of a bigger space. The cushioned seating at the window forms the perfect niche to look over a beautiful sunset beyond!

Like a beauty spot, the Den, which functions as a work & chill room, stands contrasting against the rest of the house, with its bold and sharp tones. The main wall has been highlighted by cladding with sharp yet natural terracotta tiles, throwing focus on the dense black sofa placed against it.

The ambience of the room is completed with warm grey walls & metal doors for the console, setting in the rustic tone of the space.

A space which every household in Mumbai craves, the Balcony, encompasses all of the rooms, leading towards an envious end to the house. The space holds a set of comfortable outdoor furniture, overlooking the massive pool below and a breathtaking skyline formed against the sunset. The Mono Home truly captures our heart in its finest details!
