The IT office interior design project involved a significant transformation from 13 separate offices into a unified, open-floor workspace, accommodating functionality with aesthetics. The client’s key requirements were an efficient layout that accommodated diverse departmental teams and a design that exuded subtle elegance while adhering to international standards. The goal was to create a dynamic and cohesive environment that fosters productivity and reflects a modern, sophisticated ethos.
The IT Office Interior Design Creates a Dynamic and Cohesive Environment | Flava Design Studio
Throughout the project, we employed unique design elements to differentiate various areas within the office. We treated each space with distinctive features to offer a unique experience while maintaining overall cohesion. This approach ensured that while each section of the office had its character, the overall environment remained unified and harmonious.
To address the needs of the project, we simultaneously carried out space planning and material selection. The open-floor layout presented a unique challenge: eight building service shafts prominently positioned in the centre of the space. The resulting design incorporates a prominent central unit that discreetly conceals the building service shafts. Additionally, the unit features transparent and semi-transparent niches that enhance the sense of visual connectivity, working desks, and functional storage space. This design choice maximises the sense of openness and integrates structural necessities seamlessly into the overall layout.
The entrance area was crafted to set a professional tone and manage access effectively. It includes a reception desk, a comfortable waiting area, and security features to regulate entry. To create a memorable first impression, we introduced a striking blue accent wall that stands out against the otherwise monochromatic colour scheme. This bold design choice adds a touch of vibrancy and helps define the entry space as both functional and inviting.
Workspace Layout: The open-floor layout was designed with the intent to maximize natural light and create a variety of functional clusters tailored to different departmental needs.
Key areas such as the main conference room, meeting rooms, and executive offices were strategically positioned along the perimeter of the space.
This placement not only ensures optimal views and abundant natural light but also supports a pleasant transparent working environment.
Pantry Design: Designing the pantry was a unique challenge due to its size constraints. Our solution involved creating a space that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, ensuring it integrated smoothly with the surrounding work areas.
Moreover, we aimed to make the pantry a standout feature that contributes to employee comfort and promotes efficient workflow. By balancing form and function, we created a space that is practical for daily use while adding to the overall appeal of the office.
The breakout zone, positioned at a corner of the office, serves as a vibrant gathering space for informal interactions. Acoustic panels adorn this area, complementing the office’s colour palette while enhancing the comfortable ambience.
The design ensures that the breakout zone provides pleasant views and encourages socialization among employees, making it a popular and engaging space within the office.
