  • Sattva: A Mumbai High-Rise Home Framed by 360-Degree Views | The Blue Wall Studio

Mumbai rarely pauses, yet from Sattva, it feels briefly still. Sweeping 360-degree views capture the skyline as it meets the sea in a seamless embrace, giving this high-rise a horizon that stretches endlessly. Here, light arrives in abundance. A gentle breeze moves through constantly. And the city slips quietly into the background.

Recognising the rarity of such a vantage within the metropolis, Vidhi Duggad Bhagat, founder of The Blue Wall Studio, conceived the 1,800 sq. ft. residence with a singular intent: to distill the serenity of the setting within the spaces themselves. A restrained language thus guides the design, with natural materials and neutral tones coming together in clean, minimal compositions. “Achieving this visual calm, however, was never about making the space feel bare,” shares Vidhi. “It was about layering materials so deliberately that their nuances are revealed gradually, shifting with light and the way the space is inhabited.”

    Layered Materiality

This intent finds expression in a carefully considered material palette. Textured paint and Michelangelo marble floors establish a calm, cohesive base, with the stone’s gentle veining lending a visual rhythm underfoot. Wood adds warmth to the interiors, while plush upholstery creates a tactile sense of comfort and invites lingering. Accents of brass, mirror, and glass punctuate the neutrality, catching light in fleeting reflections that shift gently throughout the day.

    360-degree

From the moment one enters, the interiors reveal themselves with quiet composure. A grand set of double doors opens into the living room, where a muted beige palette harmonises with the soothing blues of the vista beyond. The composition feels instantly grounding and meditative. From here, the house branches into two distinct directions. One side leads to the dining area, kitchen, and utility spaces, along with an ensuite bedroom, while the other comprises two additional ensuite bedrooms.

A place for gathering and repose alike, the living room is shaped by a language of curves and softened edges. Cocooning furniture silhouettes encourage lingering, while the beige palette shifts with daylight, moving from pale sand in the morning to deeper, earth-led tones by evening.

    Unhurried Dining

Just beyond, the dining space is defined by a sculptural marble and wood table with upholstered seating. With minimal panelling and amber daylight streaming through nearby openings, the room exudes calm, letting dining unfold as a deliberate, unhurried act. The adjacent kitchen adopts a more utilitarian clarity with clean-lined cabinetry in muted tones.

    360-degree

The palette remains consistent as it transitions into the bedrooms, reinforcing continuity across the home. Subtle modulation in the parents’ bed-back wall introduces layered panelling that functions as quiet artwork.

    360-degree

    Softened Spaces

The daughter’s bedroom takes a softer approach, where expansive windows form the primary backdrop, letting daylight and sheer layers animate the space through the day. Marble envelopes the bathrooms, its natural veining offering a measured counterpoint to the home’s clean lines.

In its unfolding, Sattva emerges as a true sanctuary above the city. Spaces, textures, and light work together so interiors don’t compete with the view; they extend it. Here, inside flows into outside, and calm is uninterrupted.
