Rustic Traditional And Elegant Theme Retail Store | The Thakors’

Design brief:

An effective store layout makes the space organized and easy to navigate, which is important for providing a good customer experience. The open look of a free-flow layout is ideal for such upscale stores since it’s designed to highlight product groupings rather than store goods in quantity. Customers need transition space as they enter a store. Customers need personal space when shopping. They don’t like to be crowded, jostled, or so close that their bottoms brush when passing. So the entire layout was proposed keeping these key factors in mind.

Store’s walls, floors and display units should create a coordinated backdrop that defines the brand but lets the products pop. Another thing we decided was a strict schedule. Time frames and budget constraints are probably the most difficult thing to manage. People don’t want to spend too much money and if you go over budget, then people understandably get upset.

Design Process:

Considering all the requirements client has proposed we decided to opt for Rustic traditional & elegant theme, which suits best for the products to be displayed in this retail store. It’s a dry fruit showroom, offering chocolates and other premium confectioneries. We wanted to reflect the premium products through the interiors, right from the facade.  Our client was very particular about the class of people they wanted to attract, they wanted the customer to walk in the store and feel like they have premium experience of choosing the products, we decided to have the central space open without any furniture, this made the store look much more grand and welcoming. The open space, also allowed the customers to come in groups and not feel cluttered. While discussing with the client, they mentioned a very important point about their goal, they wanted to market themselves as a one-stop solution for premium gifting for festivals as well as weddings. So we decided to give it a traditional touch, along with some bling of glamour. What are Weddings & festivities without some bling. The chandeliers and the wallpaper did the perfect job in adding that extra element. Also, the brass accents here and there did perfect justice to the overall space.

We took inspiration from palaces and added the arches, we wanted it to not be very much carried away with the traditional ornamentation, so deiced to go with white and neutral grey palate. This created a fabulous backdrop to the products and didn’t take away the attention from the products. We wanted to keep the colour scheme as neutral as possible so that it can complement and go well with all the colours that the product packing will offer.

The traditional elements like the arches are so beautiful in itself that it can take all the eyeballs, but we wanted to avoid that, because here what we wanted to focus was the products. We took utmost care in that. It’s beautiful how the backdrop beautifully compliments the products.

Coming to the nutty juice bar area, we wanted it to be as elite as possible, use of wood at most of the places, and the arches, and the brass, along with the extraordinary velvet printed fabric did overall justice to the place. Here because everything was very fine and traditional, we decided to add the rustic white wall as the backdrop, so that the overall theme of the place is maintained, and also, it hosts beautiful brass hand-painted plates.  The panel behind the nutty juice bar is actually a partition between the store area & the rest of the showroom. The storage area also has a powder toilet.

We got an old door from the palace, to bring it as accent pieces, but like explained we didn’t want anything to be overpowering than the products, so decided to use as a tabletop rather than using it vertically on the walls.

Client Brief:

A layout should take care of circulation space, display units, cash counter, and other requirements according to the nature of the product and customers.

Besides being beautiful, it should be viable. Special attention is required for using materials which are relatively low in maintenance but gives a touch of elegance and harmony.

A visual feast for the eyes, create exciting spaces that people enjoy being in. The Juice Bar should give a feel of 5-star lounge space.
