Polite Society’s newly designed retail space is an unconventional take on brutal aesthetics, where fractured concrete, polished steel, and suspended forms create a striking interplay of rawness and refinement. The retail store interior design features the brand’s signature blue, punctuating the space, threading through the custom furniture, fixtures and architectural details, bringing cohesion to an otherwise unapologetic material palette.
Retail Store Interior Design Becomes A Striking Interplay of Texture and Tone | Studio Hasta
The project challenges conventional retail environments, embracing a dialogue between destruction and precision, weight and levity. From gravity defying clothing racks to a sculptural concrete-resin bench, every element has been curated to redefine spatial storytelling.
Polite Society’s retail space is more than a store—it’s an architectural statement. A brutal yet sophisticated interplay of fractured concrete, polished steel, and suspended forms, the space embodies the brand’s fearless identity through a meticulously curated material palette. Designed to challenge conventions, the store finds beauty in destruction, where raw edges, unfinished textures, and industrial precision collide to redefine spatial storytelling.
Every material in this space tells a story of contrast. Jagged concrete walls, sculpted through controlled breakage, serve as a backdrop to sleek stainless steel and suspended clothing racks, creating a tension between rawness and precision. The glass block partition distorts reflections, adding depth and an ephemeral quality to the otherwise rugged space.
At the heart of this material exploration is the brand’s signature blue—subtle yet striking, weaving through the store in unexpected moments.
A sculptural concrete and resin-infused bench becomes a focal point, where rough-hewn edges seamlessly transition into glossy, fluid blue. This signature hue continues in steel door handles, robe hooks, and other understated accents, anchoring the space with a sense of cohesion.
Walking through Polite Society feels like navigating an excavation site reimagined with brutal sophistication. Fractured concrete walls frame the space like geological formations, juxtaposed against floating garments that defy gravity. The reception desk, crafted from raw Siporex blocks with a polished stainless-steel top, becomes an altar of material honesty—where construction meets precision, and ruggedness meets elegance.
The fitting room, a space often overlooked in retail, carries forward this design language with blue robe hooks punctuating the soft drapery. The contrast between exposed elements and fabric creates a balance between privacy and openness. Additionally, it continues the narrative of controlled chaos and refined brutalism.
Polite Society’s store isn’t just about selling clothes—it’s about creating an experience. Every element, from the gravity-defying suspension of garments to the interplay of cracked concrete and polished steel, evokes a sense of rebellion. Moreover, it pushes against the expected.
This is a space where rawness is embraced, where destruction and construction coexist, and where materiality is pushed to its limits. The result is a retail environment that doesn’t just display fashion—it embodies it. Polite Society is a testament to unconventional design, where brutalism meets precision, and the broken becomes breath-taking.
