Located in Norwich UK – built in 1887 as a Methodist Church Hall is now a home to vegetarian Indian restaurant ‘Namastey Village’. The concept of this design is derived from it’s name “village”. As the building is listed under heritage property, civil structure was retained on site as is. The design is focused to create the experience of an Indian village which introduces the locals to our culture and cuisines.

Has help us create a balanced interplay of historical revelations and contemporary additions: both drawing from and interpreting the underlying Indo-Rajput influences of Gujarat’s architectural history.
The pop through colours, textures and artwork all is inspired from the villages of Gujarat. Traditional crafts of Ahmedabad such as Nakshi work, furniture and stonework have been transported all the way from India and reinterpreted in a contemporary idiom.
From the civil structure being adaptively reused to the elements and furniture (reclaimed from old Ahmedabad pols and palaces), while the remaining material being used of the FSC certified categories, the project has helped us set new benchmarks for sustainability.
