Luxurious Design that Embarks Plush Areas | Talati and Partners

    Design ideation

Ideated primarily as a floor that encourages conversation and a communal spirit, the design theme had to be reflective of these aspects. The design sensibilities delve into an eccentric play of texture, finishes, colours, accents, and eclectic lighting elements.

One enters the space through a grand entry foyer, ornate with sleek stone finish walls. Mirrors in the entryway create an illusion to make the space look dynamic and open.

    Foyer area

The foyer uses natural materials like wood and stone along with indoor planters to add a subtle naturistic hue. Although, what adds the dynamic aspect is the dark grey stone walls, taking the user towards a party spirit.

The foyer opens up a column-free space with no visual interruptions, this area houses comfortable seating in the center, an elaborate bar counter towards the right, and a spacious dining zone towards the left. A state-of-art in itself, the space adorns to the client brief adding all things that say ‘eccentric’.

    The artworks

Aligning to this thought, the artwork was also picked to match a similar fabric. A monolithic Iron man figure stands tall in the seating area, meanwhile, an ethereal piece by Paresh Maity depicting the Last Supper hangs around the entertainment zone, going in sync with the vibrancy of the space. Irrespective of the mix of materials and eclectic lights, the artwork still manages to create its distinctive presence.

    Entertainment area

The entertainment hall has a subtle carpeted flooring to add a sense of warmth and panache. The area further bifurcates into a spacious kitchen and a powder room. The dining space with its black marble top table seats 8. An extensive glass ceiling encourages fun conversations over a glass of wine.

    Expansive wine cellar

Moving towards the wine cellar, there is an exclusive open bar with sleek storage exuding a minimal look with maximalist materials. The wine cellar opens up to an entirely new design language, whether it is the oblong-shaped plan or the sleek natural wood flooring; the space evokes the senses. The thermally insulated space with temperature control is as much about its functionality as its aesthetics.

    Monochrome material selection

Even the material palette maintains a balance between natural wood floors, marble top tables, a monochromatic ceiling with dramatic lights; all this adds up in creating an exuberant experience for all the wine connoisseurs. Even the storage units for the wine were custom-made by the design team at Talati & Partners. They worked extensively on creating this masterpiece for the client.

The monotony of the square storage units is broken down at some places with multiple square-shaped openings and is highlighted with accent lights. The space also merges various shapes and forms in design, and yet manages to maintain a sense of balance and proportion in it. All in all, this space required a unique activity where parties and communal bonding were a necessity; all this was converted in the form of bespoke luxury interiors that encourage good times over a glass of wine.

    Overcoming challenges

The biggest challenge while designing this floor was the number of columns, the intent to make the space look expansive was not an easy one to achieve. The floor plate had several beams and concealing them was necessary to give a seamless look. The residence apartment interior designers took these aspects as an advantage and placed the activities thoughtfully. The dining area housed a huge beam that was artistically oriented through a glass ceiling, making it look grand over sublime. The bar counter and entrance foyer were also articulated and placed as per to maintain the eclecticism without compromising on the verticality.
