A 1,800 sq.ft. Zen-Inspired Sanctuary by Storey Tellers Design Studio, where simplicity meets serenity in every corner. The House of Harmony, designed for a young family, is a quiet testament to the beauty of simplicity. Inspired by the Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy, the space exudes calm through its balance of natural materials, serene tones, and a sense of minimalist elegance.

House of Harmony Is Where Simplicity Meets Serenity In Every Corner | Storey Tellers Design Studio
The design invites you to flow effortlessly through each room, beginning with the living area, where a curved sofa creates a soft, welcoming focal point. Paired with pillow white armchairs, the space feels light and airy, while deeper wood tones break the starkness, subtly introducing warmth.
Underfoot, layered rugs add texture, grounding the room with softness, while 3D wall artwork integrated into the back paneling echoes the ethos of refined restraint, offering depth without overwhelming the senses.
Moving seamlessly into the dining space, an open-plan concept allows for effortless transitions between communal areas. A simple bench, juxtaposed against wide bespoke chairs, anchors the dining table, encapsulating the home’s balance of elegance and practicality.
A curved wooden bar unit serves as a partition, offering just enough division to define the spaces while maintaining the flow that permeates the home. The art adorning the walls behind the dining table mirrors the design sensibilities of the living room, establishing a sense of continuity.
In the master bedroom, we introduced a sense of subtle grandeur. The bed, not a traditional four-poster but regal in its own right, is framed by curved metal arches that create a soft yet striking visual.
This design is echoed by the curved mirrors placed above the side tables. Thus, offering a touch of symmetry while enhancing the room’s serene, understated elegance.
The guest bedroom embodies youthful charm, with playful round side tables and a unique bed-back design that add character without sacrificing the calm atmosphere. Soft wallpaper complements the room, inviting guests to unwind in a space that feels both fresh and inviting.
The kid’s room departs slightly from the minimalist aesthetic, embracing playful energy wholeheartedly while staying true to the overall design language. Here, green dominates, energizing the space, while jungle-themed wallpaper injects a sense of adventure. A custom-built bunk bed serves as both a functional sleeping area and a play space. However, it makes the room as practical as it is engaging.
Clever storage solutions, from the steps leading to the upper bunk to the extended study and library unit, ensure the room grows with the child. Moreover, it provides ample space for both play and learning.
At its core, the House of Harmony is a celebration of quiet beauty found in imperfection and the natural. Through thoughtful design, Wabi-Sabi principles are subtly woven into the fabric of the space. Thus, creating a harmonious retreat where warmth, simplicity, and timeless elegance coexist.
