Apartment Interior With Basic Design Language Creating Harmony | Nishil Design Lab
It was very challenging to design and create something unique in a very tight carpet area of a 640 sq/ft flat located on the west side of the city. It was a good example to fulfill all the requirements within the restricted space. This apartment has two bedrooms with a living, dining, kitchen, and all other basic amenities. I had started to design this apartment with a simple thought to use modern, basic design language with limited embellishments to create a space where materials textures work in harmony.

Basically, this idea has been created to create a linear pattern theme with a minimalistic look. By entering the foyer area, the wall had been highlighted with mounted lights which are fixed on the MDF wave board. The gray color wall has illuminated because of these lights. The main door also designed with the same pattern.
Linear pattern MDF wave board is used for the wall paneling of the living room, kitchen, and dining area. A white rustic texture implanted on the front wall of the living room. All other furniture such as sofa, TV unit, sideboard, and accent chair has customized with a combination of bold colors which plays a vital role to enhance the beauty of the living room.
In addition to this, a customized reindeer wall painting with a monochrome design is pasted on the wall to enhance the concept of a linear pattern. Magnetic track lights and indirect lights had fixed on the ceiling for better radiance to create an ambience. Due to this, the entire living area was glow which increases the beauty of a room and catches the eyes. The Flooring seems attractive with the crackle effect tile which is arranged in an angular pattern.
In this tiny kitchen artificial marble was used for kitchen platform and wall. kitchen wall designed with vertical grooves pattern. Because of tiny space in the kitchen, bar table concept was implanted as a main dinning. Metal based dining table customized with matt finished black glass having single side seating. carved chairs for the dinning create a dramatic shadow effect on the floor.
The flooring and partial wall of the common bathroom had covered with Gray tone tile however, the partial wall highlighted with rustic texture which is directly connected with the wash area. The hanging basin and sculptures were mounted on the wall in a utility area.
Kids room designed by using profile lights which is covered from ceiling to wall. Dual color tone used on the wall to break the continuity of linear pattern. Customized kids bed was furnished with morning mist color and the floor covering with rounded jute carpet. animal paintings were hanged on wall considering kids bedroom.
The Master bedroom has designed with vertical and horizontal pattern wave boards with the same color palates. Mid-century wall painting hangs on the wall which increases the beauty of the entire wall. A wooden bed has furnished with a chevron pattern on the headboard. PVC wooden flooring was designed. Custom made Loose furniture’s such as side table & armchair were used which was purchased from local vendors.
All the windows have decorated with horizon curtains. The bedroom has an attached bathroom designed with bold color tile on the wall and texture with a combination of grey tiles on the floor.
