An 800 sq.ft residential apartment converted into a fashion boutique “The Style Closet” accentuating the aesthetics of traditional Indian wear concept with modern luxury interior design in Pune. The design intent of the space was to create muted interiors so that the designer’s colourful collection could be highlighted, and add the necessary vibrance and flamboyance to the space.

The boutique is a small compact space with ample ceiling height in contrast. It was a challenge to incorporate enough number of clothing products in the space for display and also create an experience of openness and bareness. The brief wanted it to look like a story unwinding while one is walking around.
A solid oak laminated artificial wooden floor brings a pattern to the space , while golden metal fabricated hangers for display add a touch of opulence. The backdrop of a vibrant & bold bougainvillea customized wallpaper in the lounge chamber continues the white tones in a more modernist setting, grants a luxurious touch to the interiors of the home boutique.
The curving mauve chesterfield velvet sofa in the lounge chamber along with white accent chairs , sleek oak console and a statement chandelier are a proof of a modernist vibrant interior. The glorious chandelier installed in the lounge chamber creates interesting aura across all the spaces in the boutique .
The louvered HDF panels with a little golden shimmer for wall cladding hiding the bridal & utility chamber, has a welcoming ambiance, complimenting the display hangers, bringing an explicitly simple & artistic appeal, act as a striking wall installation.
Profile warm lights with full height looking mirrors create a sophisticated look for the boutique. Creating a focus on clothing. Floral artifacts, neutral rugs. Furry throws, shimmery cream textured curtains & corner table amp up the luxury factor.
The boutique is segregated into four chambers, lounge chamber, bridal chamber, display chamber & utility chamber. A wide wooden paneled door at the main entry takes one inside and is flanked by dressed mannequin on one side.
Then begin the displays. The styled mannequins punctuate the space, showcasing the brands pieces from top to toe. The hanging displays are separated at intervals and looking mirrors.
This allowed the brand to segregate its collection by colors & styles. The trial room is planned right next to the display chamber that perfectly hides behind the looking mirror & louvered paneled wall, thus creating an illusion of a bigger space.
The room next to the display chamber is used for storage & housekeeping. The trial room is a large set with a full height mirror and shimmery curtains.
The bridal chamber was inspired by French Paneled walls adding a good dose of warmth, richness, and elegance to the space. The chandelier in black glass & filament bulbs highlights the corner, adding the right degree of warmth.
A bay window seating with Shimmery white curtains & upholstered red sofa added the glamour to the room. The use of white curtains discards all the external disturbances & lets the clients peacefully experience the beautiful surrounded by light up full height mirror, thus completing a poetic resurrection.
Throughout the boutique ,hues of soft pink pair perfectly with natural white lighting with golden shades in the flooring. Lighting is very practical and in tune to the needs of the modern day. The focus lights have been planned accordingly to create the spotlight effect yet without hindering the sight for details in the products displayed.
They highlight the product as well also create the right ambiance to experience the journey of the very products to the modern world.
