    Our client reached out to us with the concept of creating a bar in the heart of the city of Jaipur. She was very specific about making it into a sophisticated and plush lounge. Just returning back from London, highly inspired by the bars and homes of Victorian style, she wanted to make a similar space in Jaipur. Being the first of this kind it should stand out and give the guests a vibe of luxury and richness of the bygone era in this Victorian themed bar.

    Editor’s note : The restaurant with its lavish interiors, will transport you to a bygone era, rich in deep colours and architectural decorations. The design exudes royalty with its criss-cross flooring, decorative mouldings and tropical wallpaper. Plush furnishings in rich dark colours complement the forest green walls adorning wall scones that pay obeisance, to its regal period. Among the many striking elements lies the Renaissance-inspired ceiling above the curved staircase; a true visual treat. ~ Venessa Thomas (Co-Editor)

    Our concept aims to transport guests back in time to the opulence and grandeur of the Victorian era. We envision a lounge and diner space that exudes elegance, ornate details, and a color palette dominated by deep green hues.

    From the moment guests step into Notion, they are greeted by a visual feast of intricate details. Elaborate cornices, intricate woodwork, and ceiling, while decorative moldings and wallpaper grace the walls.

    Carefully curated antique accents, such as candelabras, chandeliers, and wall sconces, add a touch of authenticity and nostalgia to the ambiance.

    Design Process: Notion consists of two floors, the covered 2,000 Sq.ft diner & 1,200 sq ft of rooftop lounge. Restricting the existing guest entrance of the rooftop, and building a curved bold red staircase connects both floors.

    The site was originally a set of 3 showrooms with fewer openings, being a commercial builder floor converting it into an aesthetically pleasing venue was a challenge. The clear height of the space post the ceiling was minimal, to overcome this whites were used for the ceilings and floor too.

    Different levels of the ceiling get maximum heights wherever feasible. In the center of the diner, a mirror ceiling makes it look elongated.

    The principal elements include the intricate cornice, wall beadings and delicate ceiling details along with a deep tropical wallpaper for the walls as one of the key elements of the Victorian style.

    The main element of the diner is the deep gorgeous green color, being the favorite color of the old English homes & diners it brings drama to the space. The furnishing with deep purple, plush pink, and floral prints complements the space even more.
