Our Client brief was to design a tiles sanitary showroom and office. We had a land area of 5000 sq.m which we planned and designed with a warehouse, display centre & toilet facilities. The scope was identified as floor planning, facade design, landscape and interiors. With the requirements of the client, came along the passion for their work in the tile industry. They wanted the showroom to have more space for display at the same time aesthetically welcoming. So the objective became to create a spacious experience centre for sanitary ware and tiles showroom, where people would spend hours to look, select and know about the kinds of tiles available in today’s market.

Also the goal was to showcase the application of tiles to its full extent. The tiles were tested to their limits by using them for every possible application; in the floor, walls, ceiling, hanging elements, artefact, sculptures, furniture and even lighting. This would educate the visitors about the much greener and less expensive and easily maintainable product than stones.
So Moving on to the Site Planning we placed Main building in front of main road for better visibility. We want to create a single mass of building, more sustainable, climate responsive also reusable. We decided to go for steel structure with a mezzanine floor.
We arrived a one volume of space. Floor plates broken into many masses using a concept of space within space. Each volume has a functionality with the central premium display area.
Also we introduced some transition spaces to provide different ambience to the customers from one place to the other. The exterior to interior was connected from ground floor to first floor with a elliptical stairway which is mainly designed to break the linear geometry. Nodes were designed connecting normal display area to premium display area.
For interiors, we completely used a Grey, Black & White paint combination to enhance the beauty of products. Also lighting plays a major role to enhance the overall ambience.
For facade massing we wanted the materials to be reusable, cost effective, rust protective, sustainable as well as climate responsive. Finally we chose steel, solar reflective glass, SS 304 Lazer Cut panels, Aluminium Profiles and High Pressure Laminates. Altogether we made a layering with one following the other, and we arrived the complete final design.
In the first floor of the showroom, the client wanted to introduce Sanitary ware, Sinks and Natural Stones. So, various mock-ups are created of washrooms, Kitchen and toilets etc from which an architect or interior designer could simply select a complete concept for his design.
For example, each washroom mock-up has its own concept with matching tiles, vanity, sanitary ware, faucets, furniture, ceiling elements and lighting. Every step ahead takes the person through a new journey unveiling the different mock-ups ahead.
