Upon entering this earthy and minimalist house interior of this 2-bedroom hall kitchen renovated flat, one will witness optimum use of space, homely vibes, and clean cuts. With an area of 815 square feet, this space’s unique selling point is its decluttered look. Careful accents and textures create a cozy mood while offering substantial storage for homeowners. The total budget cost for this project was INR 18 lakh approximately.
A Minimalist House Interior That Is Utility Oriented | Suyash Mankame Design Studio
An expansive living room complete with veneer laminate wall moulding brackets used to accentuate the space greets you upon entering the home. A simple seven-seater sofa set with three table units provides lounging space and storage for essentials.
The highpoint of the arrangement of this minimalist house interior comes through with the wood-finished canework on the side panels of the sofa. The use of glass in a showcase, a vertical storage unit, and a shoe rack created in a groove veneer pattern is a repeating accent that blends all the design elements in the house.
Classical wall moulding in muted tones sets a backdrop for the majestic real stone onyx countertop which serves as a dining table. The salient feature of this table, surrounded by classical chairs, is that it stands on a single-leg support. A decorative lamp adds to the appeal of the dining area without making it overbearing.
There are three basic elements of this kitchen that make it highly effective without looking cluttered. A C-shaped platform, white storage top shelves that blend with the ceiling, and a muted champagne-coloured storage unit below the platform match the rest of the house’s interiors.
Coming to the first bedroom cum study room of the house, the requirement was to create a sanctuary for a working student that is not high on design but offers no-frills feasibility.
A wardrobe with sliding doors built inside the wall contrasts with a full-length mirror with a matching veneer pattern to create an illusion of space.
The room has a bed with a single headboard and a side table. The corner below the AC pelmet is used for a study table. A hanging lamp and small memorabilia on a wooden rack above add a sense of individuality to the room while balancing the uniformity of all the design components.
The master bedroom is visualised in earthy tones with a yellow tube-upholstered headboard cleverly hiding a wardrobe in the garb of a textured wooden accent.
The monochromatic stone laminate in a fluted texture gives a welcome break from warm tones. Another pattern that highlights the master bedroom is the fluted rafters next to the bathroom.
The double-shutter wardrobe expertly hides in a bar unit. The Jali pattern created for storage matches that of the sofa set in the living room. Plus, the handle-less doors accentuate its appeal. Details, like the hanging lights, are included to bring the room into the spotlight.
The last element of this budget-friendly interior is a special puja room, created upon the client’s request, which doubles up as a guest bedroom. It comprises a bed and a wardrobe in the same line to make the most of the available space. A structured wooden mandir is placed on the opposite side.
