The aim of this home remodel is to marry contemporary functionality with an eclectic synthesis of earth toned design elements. Intertwining diverse textures and soft, subdued earthy hues to craft a welcoming, serene ambiance. This endeavour centres on embracing the inherent beauty of this minimal home, enriching it with an artistic touch and modern coziness. In undertaking this interior home remodel, the vision was to create an enduring, graceful, and tranquil space, embracing earthy pastel and neutral tones while infusing it with bespoke furniture crafted from cane and wood.
A palette of earthy neutral tones forms the foundation, including warm beiges, soft taupes, gentle greys, and creamy whites. These hues serve as the backdrop, creating a serene canvas that evokes a sense of tranquillity and timelessness throughout the home.
A minimal home that promises to enrich the lives staying within it | Archenest
The living room features a curated and bespoke collection of furniture that embodies timeless elegance with a neutral colour palette infused with pastel accents. Plush yet subtle L-shaped sofa, cane sofa chair in cream, beige, and greige is arranged around a central focal point, the TV, with the custom cane and solid wood floating unit. Delicate touches such as pastel throw pillows or artwork add softness and interest. A pair of wabi-sabi style coffee tables jazz up the space. All the décor pieces are selected personally keeping in mind the design scheme of the home.
Upon entering, the transition is seamless, with a foyer characterized by warm earth tones by the use of egg shell wall paint and minimal wall panelling, women-empowered artwork, complemented by soft lighting bamboo wall fixtures that illuminate the area with a cozy glow.
Elegant and understated furniture pieces with clean lines and classic silhouettes form the heart of each room.
This interior remodel marries timeless elegance and tranquillity through a cohesive blend of earthy neutral tones, refined furnishings, and thoughtful accents, resulting in a space that exudes comfort and sophistication for years to come.
Introducing a strikingly crafted, custom-made 10-foot-high rotating partition, meticulously designed in solid wood and exquisite cane, serving as a distinctive separator between the living room and the adjacent space. The robust wooden framework ensures durability while the delicate cane inserts provide a stunning visual contrast and a touch of organic elegance.
For instance, the space below the stairs has been converted into a flexible reading nook and flushed storage has been given behind it. Crafting this Bay window serves multiple functions: establishing a coveted indoor-outdoor connection within enclosed spaces, enhancing natural light, providing an extra area for relaxation, and adding a touch of sophistication to the bedroom!
A tailor-made banquet style dining is designed cohesively with the rest of the scheme, from the table top, to the bamboo wall sconces, artwork, upholstery, and the wooden framework of the table and chairs. The incorporation of these earthy hues imbues the space with a timeless quality, evoking a profound sense of connection and belonging.
The bedroom is a sanctuary for the client, where she unwinds her day and sets the pace for the next one. Envisioned in muted tones of browns and greys, accentuated by a touch of green, this master bedroom’s seating area epitomizes serenity
Maximizing natural light plays a pivotal role in our design ethos, influencing our efforts to seamlessly integrate it into every creation. Originally there was a plain wall adjacent to the sofa, the addition of a Bay Window not only introduces more natural light but also amplifies functionality and aesthetic allure. Its built-in storage further enhances its value, a delightful bonus.

When a client from Mumbai’s eastern suburbs—a quiet father-son duo, one of whom is a budding musician—approached us to design their home, it set the stage for a poetic confluence of two creative disciplines: architecture and music. It’s always a rare pleasure when design engages in dialogue with another form of cultural expression, and in […]
