  • A Home That Embodies Distinctively Indian Minimalist Aesthetics | STUDIO RSX

Espousing a thoroughly traditionally Indian minimal design style, this elegant beauty standing in Manisha Society, a prime location in Vadodara, Gujarat, is designed by AR. RITEKSH PATEL. It’s a home that embodies distinctively Indian minimalist aesthetics that adheres to the maxim “less is more”. It is strategically located in a bustling neighbourhood where an urbane vibe persists. In order to emphasize harmony, tranquillity, and comprehensive simplicity, the client requested a design with a basic yet attractive line of architecture and interior.

The screening pattern is a blend of traditional and modern architecture on the exterior. The traditional Indian Jali is applied with modern techniques to give the exterior of the home a classic Indian modern look.

The designer’s artistry is the screening between the façade and the building. The sun shed spaces act as a buffer for protecting walls from excessive heat or rain and thereby, it performs double skin for the building.

It is the captivating use of materials that draws the eye right away from the facade. Right from the entrance, the home hints at traditionalism amidst modernism. Like the good old times, there is a swing at the entrance and the gates are made of metal railings to keep up the traditional look.

The living room is curated with an apt selection of colours in décor, furnishing and furniture which exudes a serene and peaceful atmosphere as one walks in! The pickle green colour and wooden panels stand out through the meticulously chosen, minimal furnishings, which are just enough to make the home completely practical but leave the canvas bare for the residents’ creativity.

The living room’s austere minimalism shows a grey and tawny tone to make it appear larger. The walls are kept naked to elevate the furnishing. The minimal wall décor and a mini chandelier complement the furnishing. Material selections, minimal natural colour palettes, a calm and peaceful atmosphere, and the play of colour were chosen, keeping in mind the minimal Indian theme of the residence.

This design is characterized by the use of natural wood, seamless grey and tawny tone walls, vintage traditional materials, and a delicate play of colours. With its minimal potential and scope, the residence presents a striking example of how architecture can create a peaceful and sensual environment.

The neutral play of grey and wooden panels extends to the kitchen blending it seamlessly with the living room. The kitchen is designed and decored with modernism keeping in mind its beauty and functionanlity.

As we go to the upper floor, there is a beautiful wall of frames that indulge in reminiscence of beautiful memories! A corner in the passage is best utilized for leisure time. A small sitting arrangement is made to enjoy tea while bathing in sunlight or to play table games.

The master bedroom has a mild colour scheme and minimal decor. Hanging lights and button lighting add a sense of style to the room, while natural light streams in from the balcony. The hues of blue perfectly match with wooden panels on the walls and high-end material composition has been used to elevate the aesthetics of the room.

This bedroom seamlessly exudes the hint of the Indian classic era in the furniture and modernism in upholstery.

The backdrop for the bed covers the entire wall, framing the headboard. The gallery facilitates ample space for quiet “me time”. The exterior is covered by traditional Indian Jali that mildly allows sunrays to enter the room.

The flooring is a combination of a raised wooden deck and grey mosaic tiles. The bedroom is attractive and peaceful, inviting quiet moments to be spent there. The furniture is kept minimal and the room lightens up through the button and hanging lights.

A sensual play of colour at the louvre door. The door pops up beautifully amidst the neutral plays of grey!

The large space of the balcony exudes an ethereal beauty as natural light pours in from the balcony.

The space on the staircase is kept muted with neutral grey colour and wood handrail. It purely portrays a peaceful and serene ambience.

The entire house is mindfully curated with a natural palate and sensible play of colours. It took 1 year to complete the project and the client was extremely happy with the exterior screening technique and serene interior atmosphere.
