When our client, Saraogi and Co. Advocates, approached us with their 1400 sqft plot, they wanted a colorful yet fully functional workspace with ample storage space for books for the clients’ collection of law books that needed to be stored. We kept this brief as our concept for designing.
A Colorful Yet Fully Functional Workspace With Ample Storage Space For Books | Fernway Interiors

Because of this, many windows had to be blocked off to create wall shelves. This became a challenge for us as we didn’t want the space to look dull and bulky because of so much storage. Which is why we decided to use color pops to add a refreshing touch to all the shelves that we would create.
Rustic Grey was our base color with color splashes of blue, orange and green everywhere. We didn’t settle for a subtle subdued shade for either of those colors. We wanted it to be bold and exciting!
Open staff workstations had pops of blue to promote a calm working environment. The passage connecting the staff workstations and the chambers also had touch of blue in the tall cupboard storage in the form of blue geometric rustic finish laminates and we got matching blue wooden handles made for the cupboard for it to merge in.
Few blue arm chairs and sofas were added for waiting. A platform clock that would be visible from the sofa as well the waiting arm chairs added a nice charm to the passage. Wooden louvers were added to the ceiling in the passage too to replicate the wooden floor shade but functionally it also hid a weirdly positioned beam.
Chambers had splashes of orange and green in the open shelves making the otherwise small chambers a little more exciting.
We particularly loved the chamber with the orange open shelves because its such a simple way to add excitement and refreshment to such a small room by adding a warm and happy color.
While these areas were colorful, conference room and advocates chamber needed to be designed with a neutral approach to add sophistication as these areas would entertain most of the clients. In these areas we made sure pattern play in walls was there to break the monotony.
Instead of using wallpapers, a more durable option like patterned laminates was opted for by the clients. Zig zag laminate was added to the wall in the conference and a floral 1 was added in the advocate’s chamber’s wall.
The advocates chamber also had a desk with a conical shaped leg to add an interesting design element. Overall, we made sure that no space in the office was left mundane to fit the client’s brief of creating a space where all of them would look forward to coming to work to.
