The Design Konstruct Team attended to the wishes of their client Pooja Chaudhri who wanted to have a fresh, pleasant, comfortable home. The overall theme is minimalistic, trendy and aesthetically pleasing contemporary house with a equally contemporary organization of rooms, materials, and geometries. It was a residential project at Worli, Mumbai. The client was very flexible and open to the ideas that the Team had shared. The budget was not so tight but there were some limitations. Overall, the team is very happy with the outcome.
Minimalistic, Trendy And Aesthetically Pleasing Contemporary House | Design Konstruct
VISIT : Design Konstruct
The Main door of the house is painted with white PU paint and a leafed pattern is made on both sides with gold leafing. The Entrance has a dome ceiling with an exquisite Sabyasachi wallpaper & has an antique chandelier. All of this enhances the beauty of the space and makes the interior look grand.
In the living area, Team Design Konstruct has added chesterfield tufted oversized sofa cushions for comfort which has also added a style statement. They have added a lot of japanese styled artwork and have used vibrant colours, the overall process in creating this was very smooth and fun.
The White chip composite marble floor adds a clear, fresh look to the space and has also helped keep the budget intact.
Another thing to note is that all the doors that are used in the project are vintage doors which are refurbished and repolished.
They have also incorporated old doors from Pooja’s previous restaurant. Her wardrobe doors are used from the old doors and sliding doors in the living room have been reused with tinted glass.
There is an Open kitchen concept used in the house where an arched opening is made with P.O.P capital on both sides. The kitchen has turquoise tiles and the entire kitchen platform is made of Jaisalmer stone which needs to be sealer coated, however the client insisted she would maintain it well as a tan tone stone for the kitchen.
There are paneled shutters used for the kitchen– this is another key piece of the design. The opening of the kitchen is used as a bar finished in wood log.
The master bedroom has a sliding partition which opens up completely and is made of jute fabric splashing certain points of the furniture to achieve a connected and dialogic interior design.
Here a sandwich glass on either side is used with paneled artwork acting as backdrop to the bed. It is a beautiful room full of crafted details.
The backdrop of the bed wall in the master bedroom is something that the Design Konstruct Team is extremely proud of. Since it was a special request to not show the wardrobe, they knocked off the wall between the living room and bedroom and tried to provide the maximum space possible.
The design of the room is such that it reorganizes the compact interior to create a series of light and bright interconnected spaces.
The Master bathroom has black and white flooring ,where the mirror direction is as per vastu. This is sometimes a crucial element while designing a space.
The space is perfectly planned by the team and is also functional as a window ventile.
The Guest bedroom has its own charm with ancient trees covering up the view. The wardrobe is made using old shutters adding hand carved wood motifs, The Bed has a cane headboard which makes the whole room look minimalistic in nature.
Here, the Study table and all other loose furniture have an old vintage touch to them.Various handpicked accessories and artwork are used all over the house to enhance the look by the designer & the client.
We have used Simpler ceiling with cove lights to accentuate the space. The mandir at the corner is customized in tikri work from a skilled artist. We knew that some sparkle, reflection, or eye-catcher should appear on that wall to balance the look.
The Guest washroom is simple in combination of pink , white and grey tiles with a loose wood edged mirror & a wall light.
The overall theme of the house is minimalistic, trendy and aesthetically pleasing. Throughout the interior of the house, the designers have chosen to use simple and authentic materials, featuring predominantly earthy tones.
