This project was special as it was the first home of a newly married young couple. We brought together the functionality and style to create a comfortable space. Also, the muchneeded personal touch of “Sharddy” — ‘Sharma and Reddy’ (name coined from the couple’s last names) — which was very close to our client’s hearts was also incorporated in the house. The layout is open and flowing, with defined spaces or living, dining, and rooms.

The design incorporates neutral colours with pop of bold hues, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere. The furnishings are a mix of comfortable tan leather sofa and statement pieces along with functional storage option.
Keeping the space constraint in mind, we had designed the partition to be made of glass. This partition looks sleek and modern, while allowing the light to flow.
With the idea to do minimum in civil, the white brick wall was planned as a texture paint in the dining area giving a rustic theme and the wooden Dining table adding the desired warmth to it.
The crockery unit also doubled up as the space for Pooja, so the same was planned with an ethnic touch. The unique wallpaper was pasted in the internal carcass which is highlighted with the ambient lights inside. The shutters of the same are fabricated and customised.
Being an entertainer’s home, the Bar had to be designed so that it blends with the entire space with the highlight flooring tiles that had scattered hexagon tiles to create visual interest in the area.
The kitchen was designed with modern and sleek aesthetic in mind. We gave a unique laminate olive colour to cabinets and black tinted glass for the crockery unit. The lighting in the cabinet just added up to the whole feel and look of the space.
The master bedroom is done minimalistic, with only whites as the base colours, an earthy bed and warm lights. Simple wallpapers, neat finishes on wardrobes and monotone furnishing added class and simplicity to the room. A lot of thought was put in making sure the couple has enough storage space in this home.
The study room was to be used for putting paintings done by the client, so we kept the palette is neutral and calming, with pops of bold colours used in sofa cum bed, chair, giving positive and creative energy.
The other bedroom was white to make the space bright and airy. A small nook near windowto have an evening cup of coffee or maybe read a book. The major challenge in the project was that the site had very less natural light.
So, to make the area bright and airy, we used light colours and concentrated on making things look seamless for example all the door frames were re-done to give a seamless wall like finish from inside the bedrooms. We also used lot of ambient lights both exposed and concealed to add to the overall look of the space.
The Balcony was the highlight with the biggest challenge of treating the double height ceiling highlight wall. We added their hashtag “Sharddy” in neon lights as requested by them on top of a vertical garden created with artificial greens. With multiple options for ambient lights in the balcony, the area becomes the couple’s favourite to unwind after their busy long days.
The bathrooms were re-modelled by changing all the tiles to more textured and brighter shades which made the small bathrooms look trendy and more spacious. The rugs, mirrors etc were also planned in a way to make it look more modern and refreshing.
Understanding our client’s taste and needs, helped us shape their dream into reality and the space has indeed come out really well with a perfect blend of rustic residential interior design and warmth.
