An Interesting Interplay Of Surfaces, Textures And Natural Light | M S Design Lab

The space exemplifies the vocabularies of ornate, bold and robust with the blend of the stunning masonry and shades of white, grey and beige. The entire home acts as a canvas to our tactile narrative, though experimental yet evolving approach towards design. Client’s perception and brief was given in bits of his idea to final look of the house.

An Interesting Interplay Of Surfaces, Textures And Natural Light | M S Design Lab

My opportunity, as a designer is to learn how to handle complexity, rather than shy away from it, and to realise that the big art of design is to make complicated things simple and stitch client’s brief to make a space which translates his thoughts by retaining design principles. The sprawling 1500sft apartment beautifully translates dweller style and persona.

This abode is engulfed with plenty of distress elements, natural wall finishes and handcrafted textures for an organic aesthetic. Majority of antique furniture and accent pieces has been handpicked and sourced from Jodhpur, who have treasured and restored the ancient touch.

The dramatic stone masonry wall that beautifully offsets tan sofa with the bunch of accent pieces humbly stands out in the room.

Living space was clean canvas of rectangular space so we created this small grey corner of distresses wood dining table and that arty console with our favourite emerald chairs adding the pop of color to the neutral palate and creating great dining experience

Brief was clear to have an amalgamation of the common space but with distinctive elements while retaining its function to unwind after a long day. Textures on the wall and magnificent hand carved headboard to distressed restored antique walk-in door all stitched together to the perfect space for the user.

BLUSH….. on the beautiful face of young adult who wanted everything possible in one small room with that brief we tried to make gentle wish possible with our set of skills. Mildly textured walls to distressed mirrors on wardrobe and that signature floral hand painted walls all came together to make it look sassy as the girls are.

The design style of the house is an interesting interplay of surfaces, textures and natural light, and its arbitrarily yet coordinated color palate of element  and accent pieces giving it a chic look.
