At Design Tree, we believe that home is not merely a space built with walls and beams; but a treasure trove of dreams, memories and emotions. Weaving these intangible aspects into a design needs a lot of attention to detail, which ultimately plays a crucial role in defining the ambience of a home. Be it colours, accessories or furniture, every single element of the home decor is a pure reflection of an individual’s lifestyle, taste, personality and preferences. Our recent project – a two-bedroom apartment in Pune, too, revolved around capturing the finer details that effortlessly mirrored the client’s overall taste and personality.
A Cosy Home Adorned With Personal Touches And Accessories | Design Tree
VISIT : Design Tree
Home to a young working couple, the brief called for a cosy home adorned with personal touches and accessories. After thoroughly understanding the taste and lifestyle of the client, we zeroed down on a monochromatic theme for the house. Given the client and his wife had a long and stressful work schedule, we incorporated soothing colours into the decor to make the ambience more engaging and calmer. By using varying tones of grey, beige and rose gold, we achieved an aristocratic and timeless style for the house. The result was a dream home for the young couple, wherein they create and cherish memories for a lifetime.
With the hybrid model emerging as the new reality of work culture, the client requested us to design a space that effortlessly transforms into a mini office. They also desired a quiet corner to get some respite from their daily grind whilst making their home office comfortable. We tried to ensure a connection between the home and the outdoors, to views, light, and air—and offer spaces that help to recharge in particular and make our client feel away from work while still being at home.
Upon entering the house, the warm hues of greys greet you with their calming vibe. The gold leaf framed artwork on the entrance wall from Dekor Company exudes glamour and warmth. All the furniture pieces were customized and draped with D décor suede fabrics. The long tall black floor lamp in the living room adds a touch of elegance with its illuminance.
The colour palette comprised monochromes of grey white, black and a pinch of gold. The canvas artwork sourced from Dekor Company with an abstract composition of black and gold was added to the decor keeping in mind the colour scheme.
The entire theme of this 2BHK apartment is in the shade of neutrals. We added a pastel glacial green PU-coated crockery unit which also has a small pooja room inbuilt in it. The bench seating, two chairs and a marble-topped dining table are all custom-made. The mirror tiles in the niche add glamour to the space.
The area of the guest bedroom is approx. 13’ x 10’. The idea was to keep it minimal yet very functional. The mauve-coloured headboard and the upholstered bed were custom-made considering the room size. An acrylic-finished wardrobe shutter with sleek lines matches the colour of the headboard.
The floral curtain fabrics selected from daffodils furnishings added a lot of drama to the entire space. A customized black framed arched mirror and a laminated curved shelf for the dressing unit add to the glam quotient of the room.
For placing the bed, we strictly prescribed the rules of Vastu. The bed is adjoined to the window, whereas the headboard covers half the wall and runs widthwise. The window curtains serve as a backdrop to the bed wall.
The ceiling height of the room is 10’. The hanging lamps from the White Teak Company add vibrancy to the room and are in sync with the monochromatic theme. A full-height wardrobe with shutters of fluted MDF panels coated with PU paint was selected and matched with the shade of the headboard and upholstered bed. LED lights were placed under the bed, into the ceiling and curtains to create a warm and romantic ambience.
While the project had its challenges, the journey was as fulfilling and insightful. However, we successfully achieved a calm and cosy ambience for the abode by thoroughly balancing the neutral colours, accessories and decor aesthetics.
